Great idea but if I moved these around to correct menu set-up order, then the new oobs would become in conflict with older scenarios. You would have infantry units appear as Halftracks and things like that

One thing that is important is to have the New OOBs work with older scenarios/campaigns made in the current 7.1 oobs

Please standby - these are almost ready!

Just a quick question as it may not be solveable at this late date but I have always wondered about icon size. For example, the German ammo trucks doesn't even fit into a hex or the Maus is the size of Long Island (well, maybe smaller...:D)

If we correct the icon size will this mess up older scens and campaigns?

No, they would no as these are graphic files. You would need new Icon graphics and that would be a huge download!

Speaking of icons

I'd love to get the sizes of some of the icons on the unit selection screens fixed. More than a few of them are so large they leave fragments of themselves behind when you move on to the next unit, making it hard to read the armor values.
What, me worry?

In a current PBEM I'm playing (mid 1944) my British engineers do not have the ability to lay or remove mines, only my sappers do. I also seem to recall a similar problem with Canadian engineers a few months back.

The British Engineer Section (Unit 178) is classed as "101-Motorized Infantry" instead of "20-Engineers" or "102-Motorized Engineers", so that may be the problem. :)

Also...

I also just noticed (I don't play as the Brits all that much) one of the Brit commando units has Lee Enfields, but only 5 ammo for it. That should be closer to 30 or 40, shouldn't it?

Ya, but do you actually KILL it? :)

My Brits Commandos seem to take more than 5 shots to kill a Tiger...for some strange reason... ;)

Stuart Millis has fixed all the issues of the UK oobs :D

Infact, these could become your favorite oob side to use ;)

These have more accurate formations and unit mix than before :cool

Oh yes, now the Brit's can really shoot ;)

Speaking of shooting...

As an experiment, I created a Scout/Sniper Squad for 43 and beyond in the USMC. These are 12-man squads armed with M1942 Sniper Rifles & hand grenades, with a 5 Fire Control and 4 Range Finder, like the standard sniper. I tried out a platoon of these guys in a couple of battles--"one shot, one kill" indeed. 1st Lt. William Dean Hawkins led a Scout/Sniper Platoon at Tarawa, augmented with demolitions engineers. They were the first to land (at the long pier) and Hawkins later was KIA, subsequently winning the Medal of Honor. Now, I don't know if these units should be in the new OOBs, as they are just too good. I did NOT include these in the OOB I submitted to Bryan. Nevertheless, they did exist, and a S/S Platoon was part of each regiment's TOE starting in April 43 (E series). As an alternative, in solo campaigns, one could exchange the recon patrols' M 1903 Springfields for Sniper Rifles in 43--this might be a better solution than adding these "uber"-scout squads.
