DanSez, there is a utility called Intel Monkey that probably does what you want. I believe witpqs uses it, and you should be able to find it in a search. I don't use it so I can't comment further.

Witpqs produced IntelMonkey, he often contributes comments to the Tracker thread, but it was produced by two others (Floyd and Damian) - a great piece of supportive software.ORIGINAL: geofflambert
I believe witpqs is an author of or one of the authors of both Intel Monkey and Tracker and does maintenance on them as well.

It maybe outside the scope of your work but something I would like to see/ use as the IJA lacks so much intel, a program that would track combat reports by targeting unit IDs with dates and locations and maybe results so you can click on and find all the times you have a contact with 1st Marine Divison or CV Enterprise or VF-103.
