DanSez, there is a utility called Intel Monkey that probably does what you want. I believe witpqs uses it, and you should be able to find it in a search. I don't use it so I can't comment further.

I believe witpqs is an author of or one of the authors of both Intel Monkey and Tracker and does maintenance on them as well.

I tried a version a couple years back and seem to recall it used the intel reports more than the combat reports. That helps the Allied player more as the Japanese player gets very little in game intel reports.

"Radio freq at location" mostly
"1st Marine preparing for Saipan" never

About the only unit info the Japanese gets come from the Combat Reports.
I recall you could search by combat number (never got a grasp of that) and got lost.

But I will look for the latest version and give it another go.
Thanks

Witpqs produced IntelMonkey, he often contributes comments to the Tracker thread, but it was produced by two others (Floyd and Damian) - a great piece of supportive software.

It maybe outside the scope of your work but something I would like to see/ use as the IJA lacks so much intel, a program that would track combat reports by targeting unit IDs with dates and locations and maybe results so you can click on and find all the times you have a contact with 1st Marine Divison or CV Enterprise or VF-103.

This can actually be done quite easily, if you have a program that will take the combat reports and allow you to resave them and export as CSV files they can be then imported into a database program which will then allow searching by any aspect you like. I'm a Mac person so I use a combo of 'Clean text' which gets rid of some of the formatting of the reports and saves as a txt file, I then open said file as a Numbers file (Mac equivalent of Excel) and am able to mess about with it there - you could actually just use a spreadsheet at this point, but I can then save it as a CSV and then it will import into a database - again I use a Mac one.
