Those of a delicate disposition should look away now
None of MT's pockets were remotely breakable, so the only only positive was that I was able to mess his supply for next turn.The only outside unit I sacrificed is the tank xx at the pocket but it has fewer than 3k men and is bound to rout if he attacks it. The G units highlighted in yellow are i low supply ie 50MP+ from a supply source. The 2 groups in black 'circles' are 40+MPs so none of these will get any petrol to speak of. He has a couple of divs at the top with petrol but the others have gone a long way so hopefully haven't got much.

a similar picture of panzers with poor supply. He doesn't look like he's heading for Lgrad anytime soon so i've focussed on trying to black eastward movement - again without using any units not isolated or trapped.

AGN suffers the indignity of a whole inf xxx being isolated by the Russian units they should have killed in T2 but didn't because I had opened the pocket.They aren't even going to cross the R. Daugava before T4.

T3 was another self-inflicted disaster - I assume/hope MT has posted pics but I did not. T4 was not a disaster so soviet NM has gone up to 50..... in my dreams anyway.

T5 was a quick death. My complete b#lls up of the south in T1+2 ( I was trying to avoid doing a complete runaway) left me too short of troops to hold the centre. T5 saw 27 more divs surrounded there and nothing in the way of him taking Moscow next turn or the turn after. Losses were already over 1.4M at the start of my T5 and that included pretty well every div with a CV of more than 1. R OOB was only 250K more than G.
I am v cross with myself as I would have been doing OK but for those errors in the south, but there we are. If Michael doesn't want a restart (I think he wants to play R next but I don't much like playing G) I will be free to take on someone else's Germans.

Just a comment on the units routing out of pockets on T1 thing.
As a rule I always try to limit the number of units that route out of pockets. I will always try to herd. But there is a random element to this and it's not something you have complete control of (routing that is). And sometimes there is just no avoiding it.
@David, please seriously consider a return game where you play German under same said conditions, the people will demand it [:)]
The problem with this game from my side was my erroneous strategy in the south, not the game mechanics, so swapping sides will demonstrate diddly squat about game balance. Also, as I have posted several times, I don't believe that there is a single concept of balance in the game. The skill levels of players differ enormously, and what constitutes a balanced rule-set for opponents who are both beginners is likely to be very different from being balanced between more experienced players. I was beaten by your better play, not some rule exploit (unless you have some secret confession to make [;)].
I'm afraid that I really don't like playing Germans much. I was very glad for that reason that Pelton refused my challenge to play his Russians using his pro-German house rules; though I would have played him had he called my bluff. I had calculated that he was most unlikely to agree and I was right.
Lastly, Michael, if you knew me better, you would know that I would rather die than ever give in to the demands of the people...........

Maybe a rematch later down the track? I have a Soviet itch to scratch first.
