The Soviet forces, even in a hopeless situation defending Moscow from our massive forces, continue to fight hard, but with heavy losses. Large groups of Soviet fighters appeared near the front, leading to heavy air combat and over 400 Red Air Force planes burning on the ground. But the Red Army held most of our attacks on the outskirts of Moscow, with blood flowing freely on both sides.

Rumors of Soviet panic, looting, burning files, bridges destroyed, etc in the heart of Moscow spread throughout our lines, spread by Soviet deserters. They also reported Stalin and most leadership and left on trains for the east, leaving Moscow to its fate. But other intelligence reports that Stalin is holed up in a bunker in the Kremlin, desperately ordering his remaining forces to attack, defend or just plain just stand there. The end appears near, if the weather will improve from this odd mid-winter rain. Stalin says it is a sign of impending victory.

Meanwhile, the defending army just south of Moscow retreated in disarray, leaving the Soviet capital exposed on half of its perimeter.

The new year brought no new hope this time. Traitor generals already planning for participation in a german ruled post Stalin regime. No action this week, as we await the knock out strike helplessly.

The grip on the outskirts of Moscow was strengthened this turn, although the city fortifications make it a tough nut to crack. But the city will fall before the end of January, allowing our troops to return home soon.

We hope the germans will go back home in black bags before the end of january.

The information minister of the Sovietunion denies the presence of german panzers in the outskirts of Moscow. "There are only a few hundred destroyed german panzers there" he said.

We asked a german infantry korps to leave its positions adjecent to Moscow.

We hate to say it, but our soldiers are in open admiration of the defenders of Moscow who held out against 5 separate attacks during the week, from 3 panzer corps, with strong air support. But the defenders appear fatally weakened and the city should be ready to fall this coming week. But the desperate Stalin may have another trick or 2 up his sleeves, ready to destroy more of our panzer forces.

The heroic defenders of Moscow received massive reinforcement's. These frontal assaults are surprising us, but the enemy panzers seems a bit coward about trying to encircle the city. They are still afraid of our lpdta's ("little poor destroyed tank armies").

No losses this week.

The heroic defenders of Moscow repulsed one more german mass attack. Our last fighters are defending our troops to the last plane. One week of life is worth 100.000 other life for Stalin:)

The germans still try the frontal attacks, but they were repulsed once again. Our defenders are barehanded but very brave. Lovely rain came at the end of the week.

The German high command ordered frontal assaults on the bastion of Communism in Moscow, but the attacks failed as rain and melting snow led to the loss of numerous tanks in the 10 meter deep mud. Artillery pieces disappeared after 2-3 shots, and horses died trying to move supplies up. But the attack continue and the enemy forces are weakening.

All men, women who have at least one good arm OR leg were ordered in to the Moscow front. Our tu2 bombers hit the 3rd Rumanian armies airfields just to let them know that there is a war going on...

Despite the setbacks, bloodshed, and atrocities on both sides, celebrations spread througout Germany after the news of the fall of Moscow reached the rear. After heavy fighting and continual attacks on the city, its defenders finally collapsed after their strength was worn down to a low level. Recon reports heavy enemy tank forces prepared to counterattack our victorious panzers, who are preparing for the worst but hope to hold the city.

Stalin ordered a counterattack as his last order as the german troops neared the Kremlin. After that he tried to fly out from Moscow in a small plane as he wanted to survive so bad. About 2000 german fighters waited just for that...

The counterattack which was aimed to encircle the 3 german panzer korpses in and around Moscow collapsed.

Zhukov announced unconditional surrender as soviet troops began to flee and disorganize.

Actually, Tamas played the best defense I have ever seen in the game, with great counterattacks all the time. An extremely difficult defender who rarely if ever made any mistakes. It was a fun, frustrating game :) .

Here is the end of game picture of the Moscow area.
