Its 11MB and requires adobe acrobat to view www.acrobat.com

The manual issue is a tough one. We are planning to offer printed manuals with our full games, but may make it optional. What do you think? It raises the game cost to give everyone a printed manaul, or keep the price a bit lower and let folks buy a printed manual as a seperate thing? But that makes the manuals more expensive...whaddaya think?

I think it is a good idea to offer the manual separately, how about adding some tips and pointers, make it like a strategy guide from the developer.

I, too, would like to add my vote for a printed manual. With a game of this scope, I think it is imperitive to have the manual close-by. Sure, we could all print out the pfd file, but I'd rather have a nice, bound manual as opposed to a three-ringed binder!

I would like to see printed manuals offered as an option. I liked the autograph idea too.

I'll offer a compromise, why not a book showing ALL the units and their stats, but leaving all instructional material in the game? The instructions are much easier to find online, where you can do searches, and I would rather have what I'm thinking has become almost an extreme extra in this day and age, that being printed copy of unit stats. Thanks.

I would vote yes for a printed copy. Would pay, no problem. Like the Autographed idea!

Paul; if there is NO option for a printed manual, I will not buy a game. That simple. If there is an option to go for just a pdf file on the CD or to pay a bit more to get a printed manual, no problem.

Essentially, a manual is a prerequisite for me to purchase a game.

A Couple of things on the printed maunal.

A) We can not print a manual for SP.
B) We are thinking about printing a manual for our other games.

Best we can do for now.

Downloaded just fine, excellent reading. However the pictures are very dark and undistinguishable, tried printing (HP 697C)and the qualtity is not really any better. If your not going to print a manual, is there a way for me to print without the pictures. I really would prefer that you to print a manual with the pictures, that can be purchased. Barring that, any sugestions? Thanks!

Yes we know some of the pictures are not perfect. We were trying to keep the manual from getting any bigger. On our other products we will be printing nice clear images.

Also, the "SPWAW Map Editor" (Map secrets) section, is still a work in progress and there are some errors (terrain heights f.e -- can be much higher...), but should give some first insights to what can be done with Freds excellent Editor! (at least for non "Grenadier" kind of designers.. :D)

Much more will follow soon! :)

a note from the *other* brent - haha

DL'ed the manual and have read/skimmed most of it. Excellent! I haven't been as excited to try a game out since I opened the boxes for the ASL addons in the car and flipped through the new rules...

298mb of ver 4.5 so far!

Wargames can be like Coke/Pepsi, people tend to be very loyal to their favorite ( I have played nothing but Close Combat in all its variations for the last ? years ), but my interest has definately been piqued.

and if Combat Leader has the same type of feature list as SPWAW, I am going to be a very happy wargamer...

Might even try a Diet Pepsi :)

I'm essentially graphically and history oriented, unfortunately to connect the two I have to do maths. I hate maths.
