Drum Roll, please

Impulse: 6 (Axis)
Land Combat (cont)
There proves to be no way through for von Runstedt's forces. The assault engineers simply cannot establish a lodgement on the east bank of the Dyle and the magnificent Bernard Law Montgomery [&o], rotating his brigades, holds off the entire army thrown at it by von Kleist.
Although the British XIV Corps has effectively ceased to exist as a result of the ferocious German attacks all along the front, the British line holds and the German offensive runs out of steam.
Well to be fair I've thrown my best land throw for ages... a 3 [:(]. That's a 70% and 60% chance to get over the Dyle gone....

Maybe the trouble is that you are cheering for the British when the Germans fight against United Kingdom and their allies? [;)]

Over to China now, and Yamamoto's 11th Area Army's attempts to take Kweilin.
Having thrown a 9 for Ground Support I think we knew where this was going. I'm back to throwing 2's. Can peeps let me know who is lost please?

China loses the 3-3 Militia. I don't think better speed is important to the Chinese here.
The Japanese lose a Garrison and a Marine Division.

Would it be possible to change the losses to the marine division and the infantry division? The Japanese lose a Garrison and a Division as the cheapest units.

Fine with me.

You are supposed to use a d10 for land attacks, not a d3.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

Impulse: 5 (Axis)
Air Rebase
The Japanese rebase a fighter to Henyang
The Germans rebase their He-115c to La Spezia
Reorganisation
None
End of Impulse
Back to the Allies.
The Axis leaders hold a conference in Hitler's bedroom to discuss their unravelling world domination plans. Mussolini intends to depict how the impulse has gone using Adolf Hitler's bottom and a giant suppository

Allied secret operation worked our well! They used sleeping agents to swap Pervitin to LSD (Low Scoring Dice).

LOL! [;)] Well whatever it was it worked - and you are obviously using it in the other game too because as the Soviets also I seem to be gagging to throw 2's. Sadly its not just that. In the last few impulses whatever I've thrown has been crap - from US Entry, to weather to air combat and ending the turn [:(].
But am I defeated? Am I down-hearted? Am I crying in my tea? Well yes to all three actually... but in those famous words uttered by Queen Elizabeth I

RE: Reverse 4-player AAR.
I was worried Germany might use O-chit during surprise impulse to make Antwerp attack automatic, prevent Allies entering Brussels and having all bombers organized. I would not have used O-chit, but I was worried. It feels waste of 15 BPs to make 70% attack automatic, but afterwards it does not feel so stupid anymore. Let's see if I can remember this next time I play with Germany. Of course next impulse's weather tells if it was smart or not also.
Most likely I figure out I need that O-chit somewhere else and roll 1 in Antwerp.

Indeed. But then what if you use the O-chit, get across the Dyle, all units organised, the Allies are in a mess......and the weather turns lousy...
That's the brilliant yet annoying, frustrating yet exhilarating thing about the game mechanics of this masterpiece. There is simply nothing that can be taken for granted. It truly is an incredible game [&o]

The first German unit lost in the war is currently re-building following its large losses before Antwerp. The 14th SS Infantry Division earned two battle honours before its almost complete destruction in the aborted operation to cross the Dyle.

Maybe they should be upgraded and motorized while they rebuild. A mechanized SS Korps. Something to ponder on after the current campaign.ORIGINAL: warspite1

RE: Reverse 4-player AAR.
The first German air unit to require withdrawal, rest, refit and rebuilding is JG1. This unit earned three battle honours, having first fought in Poland, then spent some time defending the factories of the Ruhr, before being sent to assist Case White (Zentralle). It was there, over the skies of Brussels that the unit was almost decimated by the RAF. The unit is likely to come back equipped with Bf-109's again.

I was planning to use more of the Hitler Directives, but the war is going in too many different directions now (Bulgaria, Italy etc) and so instead, The Fuhrer will be delivering improv directives....
