No one is being flamed. The Shermans make up only 19% of the total equipment. If you have 100 guys and 19 have rifles while the other 81 throw rocks how can you say the rock throwers are as powerful as the guys with rifles? The rock throwers will water down the overall strength of the whole.

Well no,

Each individual Sherman has a value of 29 whereas when you add all the Shermans and all the rock throwers together the unit value comes out at 17.

I never got into TOAW because (as most Matrix people know) you need to be a full time student of the TOAW forum to understand it.

I found TOAW very easy to get into. Pointed Rommel's Afrika Korps eastwards, and was soon well on my way to Suez. You don't need to understand every nuance of the game mechanics, or be a strategic genius to enjoy the game. Didn't bother to read the manual until I already had a solid grasp of the game.

The YouTube with Agrippa.., what was that supposed to achieve? Was that supposed to be (a) for the TOAW veterans to give them a few seconds glimpse at some possibly new features, or (b) was it trying to show people who have not played TOAW a small taste of how things work.

Having no experience in TOAW if the goal was (b), this was a 100% total fail.

I also have been following FOG 2 on Steam. Read that thread. I say that because you need Youtubers like Tortuga Power and DasTactic to become involved.

Spot on, Kurt. Very intuitive, just ask "what would Rommel do?"
The hard part for me in TOAW III was the way game turns ended. One of the biggest changes in TOAW IV is the new way that is handled. There is a Combat Planning window that shows how much of the turn the planned combats will use. Without going into the detail, it has made my gameplay much better.
Cheers

Agrippa did condense three scenarios into just a quick overview of TOAWIV. Perhaps most helpful for players familiar with TOAW III.

I expect Steve Sill will post tutorials similar to the ones he has done for TOAW III on YouTube.

And even this tutorial is probably more detailed than is needed to get started. See Kurt's post above...
