O-man:
HI has been increased in some Allied bases in places like Manila and Java. I adjusted the levels and they are between stock 1 and DBB 30 at start. There is a cost to to IJN pre-war expansion. You need quick conquest of the SRA/DEI for HI and Oil.

John and myself have been a fan of giving players options, but having a cost. With the newest version you now have THREE potential CV capable fighters (Sam, George, and Jack). You cannot have them all. [:-] Well, maybe you can, but something else will not be built.

The IJN means lots of new ships as we streamlined the various classes through numerous revisions. You cannot afford everything. Right now, I have most of my sub construction halted.

China - There is over 50% increase in non-infantry devices and more supplies that can be generated and come in automatically. Most Allied bases start with forts at 3 or better.

I hope you have Tracker up and running to assist you. [;)]

Tracker= Must have and I use it every turn during games and a lot prior to.
You two have done a great job giving people options, that is for sure. I need to delve deeper into it.

Regarding IJN fighters, Jack has a nasty little change beginning with the second Jack model. Well played

For those of you who haven't downloaded newest versions of mod, here is what Allied CV/CVL/CVE are at start,

Then for the first 18 months, these are the reinforcement. Don't forget many hybrids at start can become full CVL, AO to CVE conversions.

Hmm Ranger that will be interesting since it was covering the Torch landings in November 42, and the Navy thought it was unfit for Pacific duty. Unless this is a different Ranger CV4?

You will need to PM John about the Ranger. Not my decisions.

I vaguely recall something about Ranger being considered rebuilt in John's mod so that it is much more modern than IRL, but I don't recall any of the specs.

We're running on the premise that things get desperate enough to bring in a 'marginal' CV that very thought was capable of being used in the Pacific. She is there. Good luck. Marginal is the word I use to describe her BUT she does bring in 36 Fighters and 36 DB...

May 11, 1943 - Ki-84a Frank R&D efforts finally bare some fruit as they advance to 3/44 (first advance).

I have three more factories that need less than 5 more repairs each to join the efforts.

Very nice on the Frank, Michael. How many R&D factories have you allocated?

SC TF movement: I recent had 6 DDs move from Adak to Cold Bay which is 14 hexes. I had it set for Mission Speed. It did it in one turn. After a brief Full Speed run to islands south of Kodiak to attack transports, I set them to Cruise Speed to return to Adak (14 hexes). Again, it did this in one turn. Why did this TF move the full 14 hexes each time rather than take two days??

Very strange. On mission they choose and can usually make 14 hexes, especially back to their home base. On cruise, not sure what's going on.

How's the fuel usage looking for that TF? Does it look like they're sucking the fuel at full speed or mission/cruise speed?

Sorry Mike I didn’t monitor fuel consumption. I will next time as I think action in Aleutians will be increasing.

Not to totally hijack Mike S AAR, but I’ll be returning to Allies once this game gets into mid-44. I’m an AFB at heart and will be looking for JFB to try to kick my butt. 😜

It is not strange at all...there is no difference between mission and cruise speed unless the TF Commander elects to kick in flank speed for whatever reason, which is allowed in mission setting but not in cruise setting or at least that is my understanding. It is why ships in combat zones sink when on mission speed...because the commander fears enemy forces and goes flank speed causing so much extra strain on the ships. Cruise speed prevents bursts of flank speed.

I spent 30 hours in the local hospital for chest pains on Thanksgiving Day (1pm at ER) and Friday (7pm discharged). I passed my stress test on Friday morning, but my brief time on the treadmill tells me I need to start walking daily beginning this morning. Found out it was acid reflux and I'm on meds (Protonix) for the next month.

Meanwhile, we have reached 6 June '43 this morning. I'll do brief update as manly it has been sub warfare and the operations in central China.

Yep, gotta keep moving ... up on my elliptical as well this morning after a hiatus due to a number of issues.
