What are you playing now?

The sequel of the legendary wargame with a complete graphics and interface overhaul, major new gameplay and design features such as full naval combat modelling, improved supply handling, numerous increases to scenario parameters to better support large scenarios, and integrated PBEM++.

What are you guys playing right now?

Your TGW scenario. [:)] (What does that stand for anyway?)

Also working on a modified terrain set, tinkering with creating a hypothetical continental sized map (currently dealing with plate tectonics) and thinking about creating a NNN (NATO, Nukes & Nazi's) scenario which I am surprised has not been done already...please tell me if I am wrong so I don't waste time.

This is my first toaw, I've just finished kasserine as axis side and now I'm playing South front 1942 still as axis, I'm having a great fun saving von Paulus's army therefore changing history, despite it's not a real challenge as playing versus ai

In future I'll try directive 21 for sure

I'm testing my "Shiloh 1862" scenario. (The one that shipped with the game was created so late that it went out the door untested other than PO vs. PO). I'm on my fourth trial. The three aborts so far have each triggered significant changes. But I think I'm about there with the latest.

Was looking for a D-Day to Berlin scenario (and disappointed there isn't one included with the game)
D-Day to the Ruhr started as D-Day to the Elbe [with Berlin included] but the distance from the Rhine to Berlin is huge and the lack of effective German resistance at that point made the end game boring [just moving a slew of Allied units eastwards every turn].

The TGW scenario was a play on the DNO scenario in that tgw stands for Three German Words.

And your scenario idea about nato, nukes, and nazi's sounds like a cool idea. Good luck.

I thought it would be an interesting tidbit of Matrix History to know what kinds of games are going on right now.
I'm concentrating on my D21 game right now and I'm wondering how many other games of D21 are going on.

What are you guys playing right now?

I'm considering another Campaign for North Africa 1940-43 - switching sides to play the Axis - although another option would be to remain as the CW and just see if I can learn from previous mistakes. If I go the former route I will do an AAR.

I'd like to see either situation, the way you do AAR's.

Tried to start a D21 campaign but, quickly became overwhelmed with new data and details. So, I'm playing the Korean War tutorial while referencing the manual. Think I'll try a medium sized scenario before jumping into the big win.

May I recommend the Road to Moscow series of scenarios? I playtested a few of them and I was impressed. They are
small, play quickly, and cover all the tactics and strategies that are needed in a "regular" scenario. I'd like to
know your impressions of them.

From TOAW 3.4 Road to Moscow is good for 5-10 turns but then the Russia AI just turns to water and there was no challenge. Maybe things have improved with the internal AI dyanamics but, unless RtMs tracks and releases were improved I doubt it is much more difficult. Still it is a great setup and I'll probably play the "What If" again. I probably won't be happy when I've remastered the game on any scenario that wasn't designed for a real single player challenge though with all the new features. So, I'm aiming at D21 before New Years even if it means my Wehrmacht will get wrecked.

On the beta development board I found evidence that Rob Kunz spent an enormous amount of time on the scenarios and
at one point I was one of his playtesters and I can say with assurance they have been redone and reworked and so on.
So I'd really be interested to hear your impressions of the new version(s).

Kiska Isl Invasion '43, playing allies. Good hypothetical well balanced. This version of TOAW has finally sunk in for me. The light has come on. I'm thoroughly enjoying this game for the first time. Salute to the makers!

I'm too busy creating maps and scenarios in the editor! After playing the first few turns, going back to the editor and tweaking, then adjusting some more, then adjusting the map, then playing the turns over again...by the time I get the game ready to play, I'm sick of it. [:D]
