Mr Mike is getting frisky sending out surface task forces without air cover. This is probably just a flesh wound.

RE: Whoops I did it again....
The Kongos can often be sunk with just three torps, so I am betting that one did ~ 20 major flotation damage and perhaps another 12 or so minor flood.
Hope you can vector some subs onto her before she limps away!

Since Kongo is a BC it's underwater protection is not on par with BBs so I wouldn't rule out that it will have to leave for some yard time.

Very nice! Those AMCs are worth a lot of points and the ones with float planes are a PITA!

He is the Japanese, he is the attacker and he only had 1 unit in the hex. That was the weird part.
I dont think he could strat move into the hex. Pucheng is under Chinese control at the beginning of the game and did not change hands. Here is a picture of him moving into the hex the turn before.

This game has been going on slow but steady.
In China, the Japanese advance was stalled almost immediately.

The Phillipines campaign dragged on delaying the invasion of the Solomons. I managed to sneak a good bit of force onto Guadalcanal and a bit next door before my opponent reacted.

The banda sea has been slow to develop for the Japanese although I have no real plans to exploit it at this time.

It looks more like Japan stalled itself deliberately and your opponent is not really interested in waging land war in China. June 42 and Nanyang is still Chinese plus no signs of any kind of offensive drive in the south too. Tis gonna bite him in 44ORIGINAL: Wargmr

At the beginning of the game Mike stated he was not interested in taking out China completely and that he just wanted to clean up his lines. The fighting did not go his way and he really didnt focus enough armor to make the breakthroughs he needed. At this point it would be very difficult for him to push forward as I have 4000 AV in Wuchang and 3800 AV at changsha. At one point I moved a large army and encircled Hankow but retreated to prevent being cut off.
The goal now will be to build up Ledo and use it to airlift as much supply as possible.
He will be hurting in China in 44 as I dont have to spend units to cover all that terrain. I suspect that Singapore and/or Palembang are going to be the focus of a lot of british and Canadian units that are usually trying to clear out Taiwan.
