Here is a look at the Intel Monkey filters I used to get the information for Sian. Remember I then "Export"-ed the information displayed to a CSV file; edited the file in a nice text editor to quickly cut out the stuff I didn't want and add a tiny bit (the "-" characters) to get the list posted earlier.

Pearl Harbor continues to undergo enemy reconnaissance and our numerous ASW TF and search plus ASW aircraft are not able to make contact. DL today is 2/2. Where could they be? We are forming 2 more ASW TF (2x DD each) to fill in a couple of gaps in our ASW TF coverage, but we have no gaps in our search coverage. What is the maximum range of those Japanese submarine-capable float planes?

I don't know the range of the float planes. But I do have a suggestion. If you have not done so, CAP/LRCAP every TF in the area with a few fighters at an altitude of 6k to 8k, they just might shoot the plane down.

As far as that raider is concerned, a few PBYs on Naval attack might be able to tell you what it is as well as drive it away.

Something that's been interesting to me is turn after turn the TF's at PH have never had a DL. Karachi, Bombay, SF, LA, Sydney, and so on all have some TF's get scanned. But not PH. I've been wondering if it's due to the sheer number of fighters on CAP duty there?

Anyhow, I'm not going to LRCAP all those ASW TF's. It's not practical to LRCAP the convoys coming and going, which you should read as "I'm too lazy to do that." [:'(]

Yeah, I sorta wondered about that too. The PB spent two days in the same spot, supporting the idea he wanted it to be seen. I mean a lone PB is not exactly an ambush force. I have also wondered if it sat there as bait because he knows how far my planes can search: a couple of my carriers or some cruisers show up to sink it and KB1 charges in some just outside of search coverage.

I am wondering if he plans any further expansion into the South Pacific. He's only gone to the Solomon Islands and no further in that area; the Gilbert Islands haven't been cleaned up yet. Maybe he's trying to get an idea of my carriers' location before he commits. He knows there are summer upgrades for the Lexington's and the Yorktown's. He doesn't (yet) know I am deferring them.

Maybe you could fool him - send your Omaha CLs 6 hexes east of the PB then put their float planes on naval attack at 100 feet ... PBs have poor AA and poor damage control.

I want to confirm something important to preparing for the upcoming operation: carriers can still conduct normal operations with up to 115% of their rated aircraft complement, right?

In other words, Lex has capacity 90, so she can operate up to 90 + 13.5 = 103 aircraft, right?

I looked it up before and I posted it in a thread. Yes, up to 115% but with a supposed increase in Ops losses

I buy it out early when it is weak with a lot of devices disabled and use if for garrison while it is training.

It might just be the Babes scenarios have a little more research in the land TOE's, but this unit withdraws in 307 days. At least the equipment will go to experienced units. [:'(]

In my game I gave 267th Tank Bde a good leader (with good admin skill) and put it in Madras with lots of supply and a regional HQ. It took until December 1942 to get morale 90 and experience 30. [:(]
But by then most of the TOE had filled out/recovered from disablement and I felt the tanks would tear up IJA tanks and troops without A/T guns. Might be a good unit to use in a strategic reserve role if the Japanese move into India.
