Ju-87D stats (Equpment files)

Post by gliz2 »

Intrigued by Larry's observation on the Ju-87D stats against ships I have tried to change the stats by changing value of the Flag2 (in bold as below) but it did not change any of the unit stats [&:]

Which flag represents anti-ship capabilities?
Does it only works for new games?

That flag setting is denote a low-altitude-attack aircraft. Maybe look at the definition for the US Dauntless to see how it differs from the Stuka? Here are the flag settings as far as I know:

<!--4:Fast Horse Movement-->

Maybe we need to change flag 3 to include the value 2 to get the ability to shoot at ships?

Flag 7 -128 will massively increase a planes anti-shipping ability if that is what you are looking for.

If you use the scenario editor and then creates an eqp file you will know.

the thing I found out is that you need both flag 25 "anti shipping" and flag 29 "anti shipping only" to make it work.
that is
<FLAG3>2</FLAG3>
and
<FLAG3>32</FLAG3>

At least only flag 29 does not work.

I'll try these settings in my Stuka's and see
what happens. Thanks a lot.

I tried these flag settings on my Ju-87D and
ran the scenario through the editor to read
in the new EQP file and saved it with the
same name and started up a game of FITE2
and checked my Ju-87D and it's anti-shipping
value was 6 instead of the required 120.
It didn't work. Now what do we do?

Larry, can you copy and paste the definition of the Stuka you made? I would like to see it to ensure I'm on the same sheet of music as you when considering the data.

I opened the FITE2.eqp file and did a search for Ju-87 and this was the first hit:
It's the only one I changed in the entire file.

EDIT: I've just now noticed that there's two flag3's and no flag2 so I'm going to
fix that to <flag2>2</flag2> and try it again.

Here's what I used the first time:

I just tried this just now and ran the scenario through the editor to include
the new eqp info in the scenario and it gave a anti-ship value of "2".
So this one doesn't work either. Now what do we do?

Larry, in my version, this definition produces antiship of 120 for the Stuka.

In FITE2 we changed that anti-shipping value of the Stuka because they were just too deadly. 2 formations could eradicate the entire Soviet fleet in one attack.

In my current game, I made a port attack giving 36 % damage to a Sevastopol Class Battleship for the cost of 17 dead planes.

We found that to be a better result than the fleets simply having no chance to survive.

It might be better to get a result in between. But we found no way to give the Stuka (or other planes) an antiship value between 120 and 4. Apparently, it has to be the one or the other - unless someone knows a way around this?

What would you recommend?
