Bozo is back from retirement and has lots of questions

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Riga will be damaged and will not project enough strength to close beachhead supply here. Also, Helsinki & Tallin are a bit weak and are unable to close Leningrad completely. I was pointing this out to Denniss at one time, when lookig for a bug which wasn't there.

And another question. Why is the northern unit in command range. I count 7 hexes. Or is that because it's a pocket?

The distance is measured "as the Reichsadler flies".

Thanks, forgot about beachhead supply.

Has it always been like this?

Another question regarding air lifting fuel in 41. After air lifting fuel the HQ's MPs go down which is normal. However, none of the fuel shows up in the unit. What happened to it?

They show up as fuel when you open the HQ details screen. Check Fuel/Needed.

However, I think you are going by old rules here. In the new patches, dropping fuel to HQs won't help you. You need to do drops to the units themselves.

Yes, you drop to individual units, so HQ got the fuel for themselves. The only case when resources are distributed to units around is airhead supply via airbase.

Greetings, I too am returning to GGWITE after a few years. Can anyone remind me how to activate the setting that draws a line back to the HQ of a unit if you click on the unit or if you click on the HQ, it draws a line or lines to all of that HQ's units? Thanks

I am conducting experimental mud warfare during 41 as Soviet player and get some odd results. The Russians should get slaughtered during this battle but instead it's the other side taking the losses. Not a single occurrence. Is this normal?

Were most of the losses from the Rum Cav? They are brittle.

Picked up this game again after 3 years. Still so good!

Welcome back! I always love reading your material and wish you were doing an AAR on your current game. Can we talk you into doing an AAR from the Soviet side which I believe you are playing now? Please? Pretty please?
