The battle of the Atlantic enters a new phase where British carriers and
submarines dominate. Sunk: German CA and Italian CL, heavily damaged:
Italian BB. The u-boats barely take any damage, however they are running
very low on supply. No Allied units lost, a heroic French DD scout barely
hanging on - it will disengage.

In France the cavalry division is mobilized in Dijon to meet a threat from Italian tanks.
The corps from Syria arrives to further strengthen the Italian front. All MPPs are spent
on reinforcements.

The Renown Battle Cruiser heads towards the Med. The 1st Army is
mobilized in London. Bomber Command bombs the Mons mine in Belgium and by
extension the panzer unit there.

The UK buys an anti-air unit and an army. Trade is re-routed south of Africa.

26 April 1940

The Royal Ark is sunk by Italian Battleships. A huge and unnecessary blow
to the Royal Navy. In the Atlantic the Glorious is damaged, but the Axis
naval units there are by now too weak to sink her.
Germany takes Norway and attacks Denmark.
Japan continues its offensive in China, eliminating and weakening several
corps.

India invests in Anti-Aircraft Defense.

China has to fall back due to the massive Japanese pressure. Certainly
a lot of Japanese MPPs are being spent on the Chinese theatre. There is
even an artillery unit near Chengchow. China invests in Production
Technology.

Russia invests in Spying and Intelligence. Activation is 41%.

USA invests in Production Technology and Naval Warfare. Activation is 37%.

Naval units in the Indian Ocean head for ports to repair and upgrade.

Losing the Ark Royal was a terrible blow to our Med strategy. We'll have
to urgently send another carrier. The French Fleet bombards ports while
UK ground troops get ready to attack. There are no battles at sea.

Things are much better in the Atlantic. No Axis units are sunk
but all their units are very reduced by now. Unfortunately they
will soon have French ports to shelter in.

The 1-strength French DD heroically dies trying to eliminate
the 1-strength U-boat.

The Courageous will head for the Med.

Denmark refused to surrender. The UK will happily accept 10 extra MPPs
income this turn. At least now we know where one paratrooper unit is.
Troops from the Belgian Congo heroically agree to delay the Axis attack
on Copenhagen.

The news from France is not good. A general retreat is ordered.
UK forces will evacuate.

24 May 1940

China loses two corps and Nanning is surrounded.
France surrenders, the Germans brute forces Paris,
taking quite a few losses in the assault.

India invests in Command and Control.

China rebuilds a corps and reinforces units.
These are desperate times.

USA invests in Infantry Weapons.

The situation isn't too great in North Africa. At least the Italian
harbours are reduced.

The situation in the North Atlantic is under control for now.
This month the Italian BB, a German CA and a German u-boat is sunk.
Naval units will have to be sent to the Med, and we especially
need ASW destroyers. The 1st tech should come in a few months.

The UK invests in Command and Control. All we can do now is wait
and see what the Germans will do next (and occupy Iceland).

21 June 1940

As Nanning falls and the Japanese go on the offensive everywhere,
China loses 2 corps. The Nanning corps is formed neared Chunking.
The UK loses a DD and BB in the Med. We have underestimated the
Italian navy!
Off Denmark the German navy heavily damages a CA and BB. We will
have to cease our raiding for now. Subs will be sent when available,
probably in winter.

India invests further in Command and Control.

China reinforces units. The special forces unit arrives.
After this screenshot is taken a local counter-attack trades blows
with the Japanese army south of Chengchow.

The Soviets invest in Spying and Intelligence.

USA invests in Industrial Technology (they are now at level 2).
The US increases its lend-lease to the UK to maximum.

The Rhodesian garrison finally arrives in Mombasa (Kenya).
There has been no Italian movement of any kind in east Africa,
so for now we send no further forces.

Allied naval forces all over the world head to ports to be ready
for that all important ASW upgrade.

Unfortunately in Libya, despite their ports being wrecked, the
Italians have the supply situation under control. An attack on
Tripoli fails and we will have to go on the defensive.

England receives an Anti-Air unit and our defenses look adequate.
So far no signs of an invasion. A German fighter unit bases a bit
too close to the shore near Bremen and is bombed by 2 naval units
followed by aerial combat with our 2 fighters. A minor victory, but
we'll take it.

The UK further invests in Command and Control. Operation Catapult (I think?)
to attack French naval units is rejected.

19 July 1940

China loses another 2 corps.

Units are reinforced and a new corps is placed at Lanchow.

The USSR invests in Production Technology (now at level 1).
USA researches Advanced Tanks.

The UK is at 99% to ASW 1. So another month to wait. I think
in future games I'd make this absolutely top priority.

UK forces in Egypt take a step back.

The 2nd Army arrives at Bristol. No sign of Sealion. If things
stay quiet a few more months strong reinforcements can be sent to Egypt.

Naval and air units are reinforced. Research is launched in Ground Attack Weapons.

16 August 1940

China loses an army and two corps.
UK trades bases for destroyers.
The US delivers aircraft to Canada and the UK.

India invests in Industrial Technology.

China reinforces and rebuilds an army.

USA invests in ASW and AA Defense.

The UK upgrades almost its entire fleet.
So far no sign of Sealion. the 7th Armoured is
sent to Egypt.

13 September 1940

Chengchow falls, China loses an army.
French Equatorial Africa joins the Allies.
Romania is moved towards the Axis with diplo,
what on earth is Germany up to?

China is one month away from Infantry tech and
saves up some production.

The Soviets are also close to Infantry tech and
save their production.

USA researches Aerial Warfare.

By now we are fairly confident Sealion won't take place,
massive land and sea reinforcements are on their way to Egypt.

The UK does not raid Dakar, our MPPs will be spent attacking the Axis
not Allies.

German raiders are active on the Canada trade route! Not sure we can spare
much to hunt them.
