China loses 3 armies and the war is now lost. From here on in all we can
do is delay.
Axis bombers are active in Libya again.

China... well China is lost.

Russia invests in Command and Control, and Production Technology.

USA invests in Logistics.

The UK invests further in Production Technology.

U-73 is down to 2 steps left but escapes destruction in bad weather.

Our offensive in Libya is still going nowhere. Next month we will
reinforce and rest before attacking again. Our carriers bomb the
German Naval bomber, with unknown results.

23 May 1941

China is collapsing.
Still no attack on the USSR.
A u-boat damages the Prince of Wales off Norway.

India purchases an HQ and receives an army (it now has 3).

China starts a retreat to the deep interior.

Russia invests in Anti-Tank Weapons and buys an Anti-Tank.

USA researches Logistics.

U-73 is finally sunk but it takes the concentrated effort of 5 DDs.
Meanwhile other u-boats are raiding.

The Allies prepare to take Tobruk next month. A tactical bomber
arrives from the UK.

20 June 1941

Germany attacks the USSR. The border garrisons and units are all destroyed.
In a minor victory a Soviet DD surprises a u-boat and inflicts 3 steps of damage.

China invests in Infantry Weapons.

As expected, the main German drive is in the south. This is where the war will be decided.
We send Zhukov and reinforcements here.

The northern attack is surprisingly weak. Note the extensive use of mechanized infantry.
A local attack on the Finns succeeds beyond expectations.

Off Norway the Soviet DD locates U-106 again and reduces it to 4 steps left.
Quite heroic for a destroyer with basic technology!

2 destroyed garrisons are rebuilt, for use against Finland.

The US still sits at 31% activation. They research Command and Control, and Advanced Tanks.
The US decides NOT to send aid to the Soviets through the Pacific. Why bother, when a patrol
boat can do 80 MPP damage while a u-boat in the Atlantic does 10 or so?

The UK maximizes aid to the Soviets. ASW on destroyers is now being upgraded to level 2.
A massive industry program commences, 2x Industry Tech.
The SOE starts operations, at a cost of 100 MPPs.

A completely un-upgraded Bomber Command has started some tentative bombing of the Loos mine.
No resistance yet.

Tobruk finally falls. Italian resistance is expected to crumble in the coming months.
The Allied fleet takes turns to India to repair and upgrade.

IRL the whole South China is basically a supply disaster for the Japanese (similar situation also existed in Burma) and they refused to do an all-out push till 1944. However the in-game Japanese can eventually push though the mountains like if their corps consist of entirely professional mountaineers.

China seems usually collapsed under the South First strategy; maybe the Scorched Earth setting for Chinese cities is insufficient, unlike in the Soviet-German front. (Not entirely sure, haven't touched the game for a while)

18 July 1941

The assault on Russia continues. It seems like the entire German
Luftwaffe is in the Ukraine.
Our heroic Soviet DD is sunk by two German surface vessels.

India buys a Special Forces unit.

China retreats.

The US is now 38% activated. It invests in Infantry Weapons and Long Range Aircraft.

The UK researches Armored Warfare. A task force of 5 ships is sent to Norwegian waters,
the previous TF had to retreat after encountering a u-boat. There is at least 1 u-boat
and two surface vessels in the vicinity. We can expect a lot more as the Soviet fleet
was sunk this month. Elsewhere in the Atlantic there is no fewer than 4 u-boats.

The Italians are defeated in Libya, it is just a matter of time now before Tripoli falls.
As soon as that happens our top priority will be to eradicate the Kriegsmarine.

The Germans are massively concentrated on their southern attack.
We decide to hold one more month and rail in as many reinforcements
as can be found. Further reinforcements from the Japanese border
will be made available next month. Our armored train scores a step
damage on a panzer.

The northern attack is so weak that we actually decide to reinforce Riga with a corps.
All USSR MPPs are spent on upgrades and reinforcements. One destroyed corps is rebuilt.

"Task Force Norway"

15 August 1941

With the help of paratroopers Germany executes a brilliant envelopment
move in the Ukraine. I should have know zzmzzm would pull that off.
The Italian navy goes on the offensive sinking the CL Perth.

India buys an infantry corps and takes delivery of a HQ.

China is effectively beaten, although the fighting will linger on for
months if not years.

The US is up to 47% Allied and once again delivering supplies to the UK.
They research Heavy Bombers.

The Vendetta DD from Task Force Norway runs headlong into the Tirpitz.
The battleship is sunk at fairly heavy cost to the rest of the task force.
Reinforcements are rushed in but in doing so the Prince of Wales runs into
a u-boat. The CV Glorious then hunts said u-boat. Plenty of naval action this
month.

Canadian bombers are flown in to Scotland to help control the situation.
Naval units are repaired and upgraded.

In Libya things are advancing at a decent pace.
The Royal Navy strikes back at the Italian fleet,
sinking one CA and damaging a BB, albeit at some cost
especially to carrier aircraft. Our local destroyer also
finally manages to dish out some good damage to a submarine.

In the Ukraine we lose an army and an armor to the pocket.
Bad news for sure but there are also good news, local counter-attacks
shatter one panzer and reduces another to 3 steps left.
All available reserves are railed in. There is no further strategic
reserve. A newly produced anti-tank unit is placed in what is hopefully
a strategic position.

Most of the Axis units are now in fairly low supply. I must admit I'm
still not quite sure how he managed to get his paratroopers ready so fast.
They were decisive and without them the pocket would not have closed.

Further north things are going more or less as expected.
We delay as best we can. We rebuild 2 corps and a cavalry corps.

At the end of the turn the Allies occupy Persia.
