Turn 8 (Japan)
Jess is getting careless in his old age. He had a Type 5 surrounded by four Shermans, it's main gun destroyed, and allowed himself to be distracted by a captured M3 I had nearby. Firing at the M3 left one Sherman "mooning" the wounded Type 5, so the TC showed Jess how he felt about it by giving the Sherman a 37mm AP enema, right up the tailpipe! Jess, Type 5's have two guns (not counting MG's), in case you hadn't noticed.
To add insult to injury, the M3 then ran rings around another Sherman that couldn't hit it in three tries, then blew the doors off it with a 37mm side shot. There's still some troops and a couple more M4's up there, but they won't be there much longer the way my tankers are hitting.
Being in a game that has no real bridges must be a disappointment to the M4 drivers. Instead of diving off exploding bridges to destroy themselves they've taken to getting stuck in the swamps on the south edge of the map, making them sitting ducks for arty and side shots from my Type 5's. One is still sitting there, but his buddy has gone to that great scrap heap in the sky, along with the jeep and scout car that was leading their way.
Back in the rear areas, the troops I dropped behind Jess' lines are regrouped and busily spotting targets for me. they pinpointed a pair of M4 105's hiding in a valley, and my 150mm Ho-Ro's sent them a friendly "Hello"
In my own rear areas Jess is learning that USMC assault squads are no match for Japanese infantry. Several of his squads are no more, and three or four others are heading for the hills. Not that it will do them much good since the infantry are only beating the brush to force them into the sights of the 25mm triple AA crews.
All in all an excellent turn for my guys!
Ready to discuss surrender terms Jess?
