I've been keeping an eye on the paratroopers. The BEF is fairly safe. They've served their purpose, and will soon have a very different purpose, which shall soon be revealed...

Turn 25: August 2, 1940

Paris falls and Italy joins the war. U-boats are a problem and sink 7 merchants.

France announces it is willing to negotiate a surrender. The UK sets up in Bretagne and ships two corps to Gibraltar (and on to Egypt).

Oh and the French fleet unsuccessfully searches for the Italian fleets.

Turn 26: August 16, 1940

Allied raiders sink 8 Italian merchants, u-boats sink 3 British merchants.
France surrenders and panzers shatter a UK corps.

I wanted to hold out in Bretagne but I suppose it's time to leave. A fighter and a corps
heads to Gibraltar/Egypt, the rest head home.

The UK declares war on and occupies Syria.

The UK builds 2 escorts, Canada builds one.

Turn 27: August 30, 1940

The Axis invade Greece.

I must admit I didn't see it coming, stupid of me!

We don't really have anything worthwhile to strike back with. At least our subs scores some hits.
The Greek fleet is all but sunk and we leave a division in Crete.

A British corps leaves Brest for Gibraltar, a last one remains but the Jerries will get them.

Canada builds an escort, the UK builds 10 supply trucks and 4 escorts. I'm just going to shut down those u-boats once and for all.
I'm estimating that the Germans have 6 u-boat units.

By spring 1941 they should be under control.

The fleet in Crete uses an oiler, 2 left.

That is one expensive landing in Greece, he burned a lot of amphibs doing that. 270 production points by my count for 180 landing craft. And he let you slip into Crete, which is going to be a headache for him long term.

But I suppose he had no choice but to rush this given the lateness of the year.

Well my objective was to hold out until the rains come, didn't quite work out.

Turn 28: September 13, 1940

Greece surrenders and now we have Yugoslavia as an enemy too. Extremely bad news.

Lend lease destroyers arrive, u-boats should be less of a problem.

The first British units from France arrive in Egypt.

The British fleet from Greece sinks an Italian CL/DD squadron (it must have been in Fleet stance). It returns to Alexandria.

So far British carriers have unsuccessfully been hunting for u-boats. They will move on to other duties.

I don't think it is possible to hold on to France long enough against a German player who knows what they are doing. You threw the kitchen sink and forced it into late August. That's pretty darn good, but not really good enough to stop a rush on Greece. And I think you got lucky with him not placing his paras to try to cut off the BEF.

You basically got an extra 3 turns out of this as opposed to a budget sized BEF.

Turn 29: September 27, 1940

The UK loses a sub off Greece.

Axis forces are building up at Tobruk.

British carriers try to strike a German fleet at Brunsbüttel but fail.

A fighter leaves the UK for Gibraltar. I'll be very surprised if we don't get some bad weather in the UK next turn.
The UK limits Reinforcements to 100 so we can potentially buy an armoured corps next turn.

Turn 30: October 11, 1940

Axis forces advance on Egypt. We celebrate with elite anti-tank crews and by raiding their supply lines.

Two infantry corps and a bomber leave the UK for Gibraltar.

The UK builds an armoured corps. Canada builds an infantry division.

Turn 31: October 25, 1940

U-boats sink 5 merchants. Axis air units take 16 step losses bombing our fleet off Tobruk, causing 5 steps damage.

We move our fleet off Tripoli. Two carriers arrive in Egypt.

A large amount of Axis troops are now in Africa.

Turn 32: November 8, 1940

Quiet turn. U-boats sink 3 merchants but take 2 steps damage.

Second fighter arrives in Egypt. Defense looking good.

Canada builds a division.

U-boats sink 6 merchants and 1 escort.

Italian troops arrive in the east. I'm 90% sure we'll see 1941 Barbarossa.

Your game looking quite similar to mine vs BWvS. He does know what he is doing.France was attacked at the beginning of May surrendered end August despite max BEF effort. I fear more historic dates with Alvaro's forthcoming patch. At least I only lost 1 UK inf xxx though. He did get Greece in 1 turn though using your method. We are now in December '40 I think but I'm 100% sure of '41 Barbarossa. I'm doing the Flavius thing with the Russian inf xxx though I have bought more mech than him.
