Incredibly cheeky of Japan not to wait another day.[;)]

I don't think I will challenge this IJN fleet, unless troop transports appear. The Dutch warships will rebase to Busselton and await developments.

IJA pushing hard on Sian...from two angles. I have retreated from the southern Sian road hold and will move them closer to Sian.

This tells me there is at least some damaged ships at Marcus or in the area...they are within a sprinting range of Lexington and Enterprise. Of course, there are probably 50 Zeroes there...

Yes to DL but no to MDL.

Is the a way to determine MDL?

If you play very close attention to the replay yes...and the mouseover does show mdl it is the number after the slash. The manual does a good job on explaining mdl.

You really have to fight the temptation to use these bad girls...but the sad fact is they cannot be protected at this stage of the game.

Radar upgrades coming and then shakedown cruises to get their night experience up. I probably should have transferred all their float planes off right away for training and work around Pearl.

I do plan on using Warspite though. I will build a defensive SAG around her, and attempt to use her safely...good crew, decent Captain, full radar. Her repairs are finished.[:)]

So if you are still on Dec. 28th (last date I saw on a screenshot), you gained four days by accelerating Warspite's refit on Dec. 7th? That's not bad on three weeks of repairs.

I presume you can now accelerate Colorado through the current and Jan 42 refit? Getting Colorado earlier than Feb. 1 with upgraded AA and radar will be a bonus, but DDs to escort her will be an issue. Let's hope your opponent has not staked out the Strait of Juan de Fuca with subs waiting for these two to make their debuts in the game.

Yep...Dec 28th. Colorado will get rushed now...but, you can't rush the refit that starts in Jan.

I have lots of ASW ships in the area, and will patrol with more air to escort Warspite out.

Turn is away...and the deathstar, such that it is, is heading for Marcus...won't make much progress today as the op points spent rearming and reloading was high. Even managed to replenish missing plane frames. I plan on a naval bombardment and close in raid on Marcus.

Hoping we avoid the Iboats.

Supplies in China now up to 134K, adding every day...but soon Ramree will come under threat, as I can see Japan sending units up the Chiang Mai railway.

This is like hunting the Bismark, but sides reversed, a thrill ride with each combat replay.

Dec is cyclone season.
You could do with a big Cat 5 in the Coral Sea right about now.
Currently playing my first PBEM, no house rules Scenario 1 as IJ.

Ok...this could be glorious! I don't think Japan knows I could refuel, rearm, take plane replacements and Lexington is still combat ready after taking two 20cm hits (one of which to the flight deck).

We have the intel advantage and will be able to get behind the IJN...the IJN has no bombers, letting us set maximum effort into an offensive strike.

I think there is another CVE sunk too...that is a shocking amount of losses in December -- even for a scenario 2 game I think.

That is impressive

Really shows that a very ambitious attack has big drawbacks.

Have you considered the possibility that he will land directly at Sydney btw?
