No, German units cannot. Only Romania units can. That is, only units at war with the Soviets can.ORIGINAL: Courtenay
I am interested to know if the Germans can enter the Russian controlled hexes in Rumania. By my reading of the rules, German units may not enter those hexes, but Rumanian units can. Once the Rumanians do, then they are Rumanian controlled, and Germans could then enter.
Is this what MWiF does? This is not a situation that comes up often, so probably has not been tested as much as other rules do.
Correct. So, supply to German units can be cut if their supply line into Romania is cut.ORIGINAL: Courtenay
As for German supply in Rumania: Bucharest is a secondary supply source for German units, and a primary one for Rumanians. Thus Rumanian units can simply trace supply to it. German units can trace supply to Bucharest, but then Bucharest must trace back to a German primary supply source.
Combat Engineers
Face-up ENG are not halved or thirded when attacking or overrunning across a river, canal or fort hexside. They also provide this benefit to as many land units they are stacked with as the ENG unit’s combat value. ENG attacking across both a river and a fort hexside, ignore only the fort hexside. The defender still has all other combat benefits if behind a fort hexside.
Engineers provide +1 to the land combat die roll (see 11.16.5) when attacking a 2 or 3 factory stack city. Defending engineers subtract 1 from the die roll when defending a 2 or 3 factory stack city. These benefits are in addition to the other benefits and can be used simultaneously (e.g. gaining both benefits when attacking across a river into a 2 factory city).
If an ENG provides any benefits in an attack, it always suffers the first loss (even before white print units attacking in winter).
I have the turn at the beginning of the (axis) impulse. Should, I think, be able to recreate it from that.ORIGINAL: Courtenay
Ronnie, I realize that this combat happened about a week ago, but would you have a saved game from which we could recreate the attack? Only the units that took part in the attack would have to move, and the paradrop could happen without air activity.
