Komrade, how old is the fifty caliber Browning machine gun? Where is its replacement?

The B-52 is not laughable.

The DC-3s are still being used.

Run home and get in contact with President Kim.

Sieg Heil, Komrade!

There's an air freight outfit not far from me in the Toronto region that uses DC-3s. Old does not mean obsolete. A bullet from any functional firearm of any age is still lethal. The 1911 is over a century old, the human body is much older than that and has not changed much at all.

So no weapons are obsolete based on your enlightened opinion. Got it.

I should've worded it "Old does not necessarily mean obsolete. I look at it from the angle that if something old can still do the job well, why incur the expense of newer? I had a business guy explain the idea to me once, when I asked him why didn't the company buy newer computers. He said from the profitability point of view there was no increase in productivity by buying the newer equipment. Once the old stuff affected profitability then they would invest in new stuff.

Buffs are not obsolete and will outlive B-1s and B-2s, because they are cost efficient and can leverage stand-off weapons. The Air Force has been trying to get rid of the A-10 forever, with the F-35 being claimed as the plane that do everything, but does nothing terribly well, and costs a fortune. And a drone cannot lift that cannon that the A-10 can. And the troops on the ground seem to appreciate the A-10. They do they heavy lifting so that should count for something.

And F-4s came without guns initially. That changed PDQ when missiles were not the be all end all.

And I would fly a DC3/C47 anytime.

Or a 747 (a lot of Buff tech in that plane).

I will now shush before this gets more political.

B52s 20 years ago couldn't enter 2nd rate Yugo air space.

Obsolete.

The B-52 didn't need to go into the airspace.[&o]

Oh wait, my bad, you are referring to that car that was made in a communist country that the comedians liked because it gave them a lot of material for jokes. Who would want to get in that airspace?[:-]

Yeah, good job. When Bush became C-in-C he found out all the ALCMs were gone. Fucking brilliant uses of ALCMs.

Now Iran has ALCMs on steroids.

****ing brilliant.

Komrade, think for just one teeny little moment. What does putting ALCMs on steroids do? To me, that is a waste of steroids?
