Remind me of when my Labrador RB and Labrador Cleo I was watching for the week busted out of the house when China Garden Delivery guy arrived with my food. Rats. Grabbed food. Then grabbed leash and collar. Found Cleo a down at the park near the house. Hmmm. No RB. He always is within 20' of Cleo. I around and He was RB had shot into the public pool past the staff and went swimming. I went in to get him. Not a word said they just pointed. They knew who I was after. All the kids were having a blast with him. Instant neighborhood legend. Still talked about to this day.

My lady had a Jack Russel terrier that was always adventurous. He could get over the 4' back yard fence by running at a tree nearby and ricochet off it to land in the back lane. One time he crossed one of the busiest roads in the city to get to a motel and try out their pool.

Another time he got out in time for the Sunday Buffet at a nearby hotel and invited himself into the dining room.
Then there was the time he got out and a few hours later jumped into a police car when the cop happened to open the door to get out. Guess he wanted a ride-along.

At the lake he loved to dive for rocks that were heavier than he was and drag them ashore (the breed was made to pull badgers out of their holes). One time he must have dived in deeper water and swam around but he just disappeared. We couldn't find him anywhere until I happened to see movement through the narrow crack between boards at the end of the dock. I dove down and pulled him down and up to get clear of the dock.

Being a terrier he wouldn't quit either. He saw some ducks in the bay and dove in to chase them he got pretty close before they paddled off toward the open water of the Lake of the Woods (a huge lake). Calling to him did no good, he was gonna get those ducks. I finally had to borrow a jet-ski to go out and bring him back to shore.

There are numerous other stories but those are the ones that first come to mind.

Ah yes Lake of the Woods. Know it well. Springsteel usually. Used canoe and camp in the Island area of Ontario North of Baudette. We would take off near Morson for a week at a time.

All my Labradors have been adventurous. All Labs are. We have had Labradors in my family for 50 years now. All have been related. Two of them were the first American-Canadian champion Labradors in North Dakota back in the mid-70's. My first Labradors son was a non-quitter. At the lake he was always after ducks and Kayaks. And I had to always throw the ball until my shoulder finally gave out. Under hand after that. Ouch. At Kelly's Slough Wildlife viewing site west of town here. A wild duck near the weir let him swim right up to him never flinched and Rascal(His name)just turned around and swam back. He was also great at under water adventures. Rocks usually some branches. Only way to know where he was is when his tail broke the surface. He finally caught a rabbit in the backyard, dragged it into my living room before I realized what he had in his mouth. My cousins Labrador sits in the water all day at the lake trying to catch minnows. And mean all day with a couple of breaks. We get the boys together time to time. He has two Labs and have CLAW bouts. C.L.A.W. is Championship Labrador All-star Wrestling. Great way to wear the boys down.

When I was young, many many moons ago, we had an Irish Setter on the farm. Well if she got out into the fields and put her nose into the wind, she was gone. She wouldn't return for hours....GP

Well, my Grandfather had a black lab that had puppies in Grandma's closet. She was so proud to show off her puppies. A really nice, friendly dog. One summer, many years later, I told Grandma that I remembered that dog. She was surprised that I remembered that dog because I was so young.

That autumn during deer hunting season, a cousin was visiting with her husband and two boys - the guys went hunting - and another cousin showed up with a friend of hers from the area. I started reminiscing about that dog, extolling her virtues, and then as if it suddenly dawned on me, I turned to my 16 year old cousin Kelly and said "You know, your dad really must have liked that dog to name you after her." [8D] You know what, she looked even prettier when she was angry! [:D] Grandma kept a straight face the whole time, she probably figured out what was coming. [;)]

It's a shame NashvilleN isn't around much these days. We could talk a LOT of trash. [:D]

Sweet Pea lets me vacuum her, but when the shower turns on, she runs away. Then she returns to watch the water go down the drain. This is what it looked like just before noon on Sunday. I have pictures of Sunday morning before it got like this:

That is the top of the shower curtain which is where you put the shower rings through the wholes. It is a little stronger as it appears the plastic is doubled up.
