After being attacked by an Allied Power.ORIGINAL: warspite1

War with China doesn't have to be the trigger. Just the fact that Japan is an Ally could, with a Republican administration be enough to make the USSR seem more of a threat than Nazi Germany. Or, if an incident is required, any would do. Soviet equipment turning up in Japanese units, etc.
So let me get this right. You see no issue with Japan and Britain being allies (see your posts above) but the Soviets and Japan as allies is a big no no and has the Americans cosying up to Fascists?
You can't seem to get your head around the fact that these aren't football teams. Each side has countries. Those countries are not necessarily playing as a team with team goals. They are playing for their own benefit and as it suits them to be in a team. Japan is only loosely allied to Britain and the USSR when Japan go rogue and attack the US. The British and Soviets tell Tojo where he can shove their alliance.
I ask yet again (5th time of asking?), if you believe that Britain and/or the USSR would make an enemy of the US:
- how does an effectively bankrupt Britain, reliant on the US for supplies, food and weapons manage to proescute the war against Germany, Italy, and now the US, without the US?
- How does Stalin decide he doesn't need lend lease and would rather have an alliance with Japan - a country that is not helping the USSR?
