The current TOE of the Australian Divisions are killers...and the upgraded TOE does add some AA and a MTN guns but at a great reduction in firepower...so I can't see a reason to upgrade them. Merely given them a supporting AA unit.

What happens to the excess devices after a TOE upgrade? Goes back to the pool eventually?

Toying with the idea of using 3 fleet carriers ambush the returning battleships after the next bombardment run....totally depends upon what Japan is doing with the KB, but I think it would be pretty successful. At present the KB is a tad too close...and, sadly, I fear I will do the October upgrades instead....but I bet there will still be this opportunity in two weeks time. We shall see and start making provisions for this crazy op. By then tho, it is likely their will be akes in the Marianas.

Less load cost will make the Division easier to transport and land amphibiously. 25 pounder guns take a while to unload.

I am sure the excess devices are sent to the pools. Arrival time probably depends on where the unit was when the upgrade happened.

My experience attacking BB's with carriers at this point in the war is torpedoes don't work. You might end up getting a dozen hits with bombs that don't penetrate nor do much beyond some operational damage and you will lose a lot of SBD's doing it. BB's can soak up a lot of dive bomber hits without suffering any critical damage. You mileage may vary.

Fair point, but I bet these troops never see a transport....they are going to be slogging thru overland to Vinh and Hong Kong I hope.

This series of air missions shows why a fleet engagement with the Japanese KB would be a bad idea. My pilots are decent, but every attack the IJ fighters manage to get thru to the bombers.

And finally, a slug of Chinese in the mountains north of Ankang are forced to retreat by the lesser Tank Army of the Apocalypse....which is bad, I had hoped they didn't have a valid retreat path.
