- Allow an automated colony ship, that is going to pick up colonists for a new colony marked for colonization, to "claim" that colony as taken, and update the icon on the "new colonies" screen to show it is en route to pick up colonists.

Regarding automated colonization policy settings and AI behaviour, I think there are a lot of relatively small tweaks that could be made that would mitigate a lot of problems people are reporting, but I will keep it to the simplest change that I think could make the biggest difference:

I actually modded my game to do this by adding a 1% bonus to development for all construction resources. Without some sort of rethink/changes to how the game starts, it won't work on a pre-warp or even say tech 0 or tech 1 start. Bases should also have constant demand for strategic goods for maintenance. More bases means more need to supply these resource that, otherwise, sit there and do nothing.
Civilian supply and demand for all resources, including planets. This should be fueling development.
In theory, it worked. All my construction resources were slowly ticking down. The problem was, by the time I researched skip drives, I had eaten all my more rare construction resources. I couldn't build any mining stations. The civilian economy couldn't build any mining ships. So I was left with a couple of mining ships that I can control, playing whack a mole with my resource black hole. This trip they bring polymer, next trip they bring steel, but by the time they fly across the system and back, the polymer was gone. This would work and achieve what people want, if there was some way to set a strategic reserve. IE, if the resource drops below X, it stops getting used by the civilian economy for colony development. This way you'd always have a small reserve at the start of a game that you could use to get started. I imagine ONCE you got started it would be fine. The problem is getting started, and the AI simply has no hope of coping with this start IMO.

Please name Research station based on the Bonus they retreive.
For Example, the Reserach Center in Draithus that gives 21% Engines could be called "Draithus Propulsion Research Center". Give it a numbering in case you have two planets witht the same primary reserach bonus in the same system.

Show resource shotfalls in ship designer. So we can easily make a choice of components to avoid resources scarce in our empires.

There is a addtional Recommndation if you lack sources for any resource.

Remember our sorting orders.
When you open a screen you have to resort it each time. Just remember the last sorting sequence. Not only the very last column but a multi-column sorting.
While everyone has different preferences people tend to stick to their own preference - once they've figured out what it is. Obviously you could do this by another option in Settings, too.

Start New Game with current settings.
If I click through the menus, the last settings are being kept, even when I close the game,
So when I am searching for a nice start, why not have an option to do that with only one click.
Especially since I have the slight suspicion the game does not like it, when I mash "next" through the menu until it creates a universe.
Made the game crash a couple of times.

That doesn't tell you if you have a shortage of the resources, only if you don't have them at all. Add a popup message when a ship or fleet becomes idle.
You can't keep an eye on every manually controlled ship or fleet.
You don't have to babysit every order you give but you want to know when it's done. Giving an order and switching back to automate isn't an option either, because you want to give further orders afterwards.

Add filter for design wherever it seems appropriate.
Comes in very handy for upgrading manual designs and retrofitting individual ships and bases.
At the moment it's nearly impossible since you'd have to click on every single ship and base to find older/other designs.

True, still babysitting on a larger scale. You always have to actively look at four (five when you can give freighters orders) different tabs including changing the filter. For some unknown reason AHK is not really working. While you can raise message boxes, so it's working, but neither send mode is working, DW2 simply ignores any input. So there isn't even a workaround using hotkeys either.

Limited Use Sensor Sharing
This is a way for two empires to share data - but only as it relates to defeating a major threath.
Say we have Sensor Sharing against the Hive:
- I would know where the othere empires Monitoring Stations. It is impossible to disclose sensor data without leaking that
- if the other empire has eyes (or sensors) on the Hive, I would know the Hives position

1) Please add ability to drag and drop items in lists. Like research.
It's sad when you need to move on top stolen from others techs with 3/4 progress... every few month
Check how Rimworld work with lists and it's management
2) please add some tooltips for details research and ship constructor about wtf is this detail doing. Appeared by shift button for example. I'm not new in DWU but still sometimes confusing in DW2 descriptions.... +5% targeting is good but... what is this part for?!
3) please check autohiring of troops.
No idea why 90% of my colonies without any with automated "high garrison" policy and >1000k cash on hand...
4) could you change font for action buttons in negotiations and proposals screens....
They are same as tons of info around and it's a perceptions check to find it now

Can we get "passive" technlogies?
Like a tech that simply boosts all counter measurement by 5% or all armor rating by 10% etc.

I know it is most probably coming in an future update or expansion... but I do miss the possibility to hire pirates and give them privateering or smuggling contracts like in DWU.
Perhaps even arm them or sell them ships, in exchange for a share of the loot at the expanse of your Reputation? And of course, if the pirates become too powerful there's a chance that they will cut their ties with you and use them against you - no honor among thieves.

They absolutely come.
They just had to be cut for realease, to have any hope of finishing the game this decade.
