Then don't go to Jamaca, as a friend of mine did, she got real upset when they called her a 'Yank', she didn't understand that, that's what the call all USA citizens down there, and other places. [:D]

Some nicknames grow less offensive to their owners as time goes on. 'Jap' is still a little too fresh, so not using it would be a polite consideration, not necessarly a political correct issue.

True true true!!!! I think It's all about a matter of respect, common courtesy, and decency, and not a matter of political correctness or anything, and thus I avoid any type of language that could be interpreted as derogatory, as I would hate it if someone casually used a derogatory term against me, and their excuse being, that they thought that's what is for a short (even though they know that there is a derogatory meaning behind that sort of language) or any other lame excuse.
