The only action was an allied PG attempting to attack I-25 but failing.

China:
I moved two fresh divisions into Changteh and since I wasn't sure if they would trigger a shock attack crossing the river I ordered my troops there to bombard - hopefully Nomad won't notice the additional troops - with more on the way.

Absolutely nothing happened this turn :) The combat report was completely blank... Just goes to show that it is a slow time between exciting parts...

Not sure what Nomad is doing, but I am moving units to their defensive positions and building up the bases - mostly forts at this point. The longer he waits to attack, the better my defenses will be.

My first brigade is fully in place (except for the 15cm guns) at Woodlark now. Not sure when the guns will ship - as long as the allied DS is around they never will. Aircraft are airlifting some supplies to Rekata Island this turn and then will probably go back to airlifting troops - most likely to Shortlands next.

A brigade will land at Dobo next turn and will start to dig in and help build forts. Another brigade will land at Saumlaki the turn after and do the same. With the third Brigade landing at Dili two days later. This will complete my SRA defenses, until more troops arrive in Japan.

South Pacific:
An allied TF bombarded Shortlands in the night inflicting devastating damage to the base and some damage to the troops. Five CAs, eight DDs and 3 DMS participated in the bombarding. Before the bombardment a flight of Kates did get an attack at the heavy cruisers but missed in the darkness. It is strange - combat report says they carried torpedoes, but the animations were bombs dropping so I'm not sure which to believe.

Those two were the sole events of the turn. Looks like the allied DS has pulled back some so my ships are scurrying from their holes and moving supplies and men once more.

Sub Warfare:
My ML TF leaving Truk runs over the SS Grouper who fires at a CA but misses. The TF fails at attacking back and continues on its way.

Near Mussau Island, on its way to Kavieng, an amphib TF carrying a brigade sights SS Seal and attacks, managing to damage the sub a little before continuing on its way.

The allied DS is moving back into the area near Woodlark Island. I think he is just using it to prevent me from moving supplies and reinforcements into the area. That will be a problem in a while but not right now.

Sub Warfare:
Pulling my amphib TF back they run over another allied sub who attacks one of the escorts and misses.

Another slow turn with very little action. The allied DS moved to Lunga this turn, so I'm not sure what he is doing.

Sub Warfare:
RO-66 gets run over by the allied DS and damaged. She has been ordered home to Truk for repairs.

Allied DS seems to be heading back to near Woodlark Island.

South Pacific:
Well my Betties finally flew with their escort and attacked a pair of DDs under the allied DS cap umbrella. My losses were bad considering we only attacked 2 DDs and didn't even get single hit. My only hope is that this may make Nomad be a little more cautious knowing he is within torpedo range.

SRA:
Brigades are now in position at Dobo, Saumlaki and Dili. Their engineers will help build forts for now. Next step is to deliver more supplies to SRA bases and begin building up stockpiles for when I cannot deliver supplies. Dobo & Saumlaki are still too small to hold much, so I am going to have to build up some ports or airfields there if I want any sort of stockpile.

South Pacific:
Spotting ships in port at Lunga I ordered my Betties to conduct a night attack on the port. Half of them couldn't find the target despite 70%+ moonlight, but the ones that did attack managed to hit DD Jarvis with a baby 60kg bomb, setting her on fire. The attack cost me 1 Betty (and pilot) due to flak over Lunga port. Not sure if it was worth it.

Not much else happened, though the allied DS did back a couple hexes further away from Rabaul - so maybe he is being cautious of the LR Navy bombers there? Who knows.

The next wave of Brigades arrived in Japan - four in total. They are split evenly between SRA and South Pacific and are moving to their departure ports. I am planning to place them at Ambon and probably Kendari in the SRA and not sure where in the South Pacific yet.

The next batch of Brigades don't arrive until November, and I believe there is only two there. Then I get more in 43, as well as 4 new tank brigades and type 3 tanks.

The US just got the F4U-1 Corsair this month, but its ground-based only. Not sure how many he gets, but I am thinking its around 3 per day counting factories and replacement rate.

Well the combat report for this turn is blank - nothing happened. I continue to move troops and supplies around my empire -- not to mention hauling of fuel, oil and resources back to Japan. The allied DS is sitting a few hexes off Woodlark Island preventing me from delivering a load of supplies there.

The Brigade at Shortlands will be complete in two days - except for the heavy guns. Then I will airlift the rest of the brigade to Milne Bay.

Sub Warfare:
Dutch sub KXV attacks an amphib TF in the Straights of Malacca, hitting an xAK-T with a torpedo crippling it. Escorts inflicted minor damage on the sub. I am hoping the valuable ship can make port one hex away and be saved. Not only is it a valuable ship, but she is carrying half a Naval Guard unit destined for Burma.

South Pacific:
Betties attacked Lunga port again at night, but hit nothing this time.

The allied DS is still hanging out near Woodlark and I have sent a sub to say hi. I am due a couple torpedo hits on a CV or BB so maybe this one will do it. I am not sure what to do about the DS as with it there it is seriously hampering my ability to move units and supplies throughout the whole area. I may need to bring my CVs down the eastern side of the Solomons again and maybe get him to chase me a bit. I will have to think about that.

Sub Warfare:
As expected - and more reason to believe the game hates me - my sub moves into position on the allied DS and attacks. It fires six torpedoes at a fat, lumbering CV and all six miss... again... I haven't counted, but I think I'm around 0 for 20 or worse on sub attacks against allied CVs.

Sub attack near Rossel Island at 107,135

Japanese Ships
SS RO-62, hits 13, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk

Allied Ships
CV Saratoga
BB Resolution
BB Revenge
CA Pensacola
CA Houston
DD Whipple
DD King
DD Humphreys
DD Brooks
DD Kilty

China:
LR Navy Bombers attacked ground units at Kweilin as part of my intel by force campaign - trying to map what units he has defending the smaller bases on the Chinese Rail so I can plan accordingly.

Nothing else happened this turn.

China:
I forgot to move my Nells and they flew into an AVG cap trap - twenty two planes were lost :x

South Pacific:
The allied DS pulled back a few hexes to the south for unknown reasons - maybe refuelling? Maybe meeting another TF? I am taking the advantage to move some ships around while they are a bit out of range. The fourth Brigade moved to Rabaul last turn and is mostly unloaded. I am moving the unloaded ships away from Rabaul as the TF has 5/5 recon on it and he may dart forward to try to sink some LSDs. I have set my Zeros to 80% CAP and moved into another Zero unit as well.

I have roughly 100 fighters training at Truk and in a couple weeks they will be trained up and ready to deploy to Rabaul.

A few bombings in china and that was it for the turn. The allied DS did not move so I have unloaded the last of the Brigade at Rabaul and am fleeing north for safety.

Sub Warfare:
A Dutch sub was spotted and attacked northeast of Palembang. Unfortunately the PBs were unable to damage the sub. AMcs have been dispatched from Palembang to check the area for mines.

Another Dutch sub was attacked in the Straights of Malacca, but we were unable to pinpoint it and damage it.

My AMc TF encounter a minefield 1 hex northeast of Palembang and begin sweeping them when one of them runs into a mine and sinks - my luck this game has been mostly poor. Not sure I've swept a minefield yet without losing one of the ships clearing it.

Looks like my AMc has cleared the sub-laid mines. It will hover a day or so to make sure. I have ordered more AMcs from Japan to be sent out.

South Pacific:
Looks like the allied DS is hanging around on the eastern side of the Solomon chain, just northeast of Rekata Bay. I wonder if he is planning an invasion there - it would be the logical next step up the chain.

Two more days and the full Brigade will be at Milne Bay. The fourth Brigade will be sent to Kavieng to secure an escape route for when the time comes.

SRA:
Don't remember if I've updated this or not, but three brigades are positioned in the SRA at Dobo, Saumlaki and Dili building forts. They are there in full and supplies are being dropped off at Dili, Ambon and Kendari as well. The next two Brigades for this theater are slated to be positioned at Ambon and Kendari..

Not much happened this turn - some failed sub attacks and ASW efforts on both sides and some bombing in China.

This turn I will airlift the last of the 9th Brigade to Milne Bay !! Next up for the South Pacific will be to move a Brigade to Kavieng and then a Base Force from Truk to Kavieng and then two base forces from Kavieng to Shortlands.

Not much happened again this turn. The allied DS moved back into the Solomon Sea near Woodlark spotting my Fast Transport TF delivering supplies to Woodlark. No attack happened, as I doubt Nomad has fighters on Naval Attack. I have ordered the TF to flee.

In china my Zeros swept Changsha catching some AVG in the air. Losses were pretty even.
