Veterin has requested an additional house rule of no airfield bombings. I have agreed too and will update the opening AAR forum post to track the change. Airfield bombing is broken when your opponent can read where air re-basing takes place to during Air Execution phase. As you can see in this example below.

I also want to mention, and re-iterate what Veterin said earlier, this game will be at a slower pace. I don't want, nor does Veterin, to detract from his Jasonboomer game that is a very interesting read here https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 2&t=385794 I wish them both good luck in that very intense game.

This has to be the BIGGEST darn Soviet Rifle Division I have ever seen in Tarnopol! That is a MASSIVE 17 defense value! In clear terrain even! AFTER a retreat! Veterin had some really good RNG that is for sure. My too regiments don't even add up to 17! (of course it is going to move back into Tarnopol during his turn. I was really wanting it to rout, but oh well...

That battle to dislodge Tarnopol also hurt like crazy, 12 tanks I hate attacking cities with armor because of the penalties but I needed to do it. It was either going to rout out or retreat. But yeah 80th Rifle division is POWERFUL! I BARELY got over 2:1.

Ok, we are on turn 6 with Veterin having the turn. I have to say that this game is a bit different & I am sure Veterin would agree. But we will cover that in more detail in future updates to this AAR.

Leader Death!!!

Well, I have to say this was not a very nice thing to see. Germany loses one of their excellent leaders. Will be keeping tabs on this if it happens often or not. Granted a Soviet Mech unit moved next to a PZ Division with the HQ Reinhardt was in so I can see this happening in real life too. I blame myself for the mistake and will file it away not to do so in the future. But the turn must go on.

Of course I get a replacement commander for Reinhardt. 4 admin & 3 Mech.... YUK! I will keep him in place at the moment but re-assign infantry to this HQ. Just YUK. 7 Morale is nice though

Rumanians!!!!

Since Rumanians came on line this turn I look over the situation. LOW and BEHOLD the Rumanians received some nice little buffs! Let me go over some of these. These are a step in the right direction which is needed for Axis Allies.

First 1 is the Frontier Division. You can see in my previous game with Beethoven my Frontier Division has 45 morale. 8 points difference in combat power! I feel powerful now!

NOW, the Frontier Division is 60 Morale!!! And starts at 60 without having to gain morale in the process.

North End of Turn

At the beginning of the turn I had 197 Soviet units surrounded. Every pocket held & if anyone that follows me knows I make it a point of removing "all" pockets turn 2. I was successful in doing so. I "also" make it a point to Deliberate Attack all units if I can to cause as much loss as possible to those surrounded units. If you do not the excess goes back to the Soviet pool that are not counted. (That info was presented by Joel in another thread about a year ago when I asked about it since I was already doing so before the confirmation) So I make it a point to "blow up" everything as hard as possible. To me it is worth it. To others it may not be based on what speed you wish to advance.
