South Pacific:
More troops come ashore at Woodlark Island.
B-17s make another night time raid on Truk - this time targeting the airfields. In the air battle we lost 15 A6M2 Zeros and 5 Tojos in exchange for 4 B-17s - 5 to 1 ratio -- not good. I attribute a bunch of that to the M2 Zeros not having armor and poor weaponry. The B-17s caught 9 planes on the ground destroying them - 6 Vals, 2 Emilies and 1 5c Zero. The airfield suffered minor damage - 6 pts to runways.

S-34 fired two torpedoes at PB CHa-13 but misses - and the dinky ASW efforts by the PB do not damage the sub in return.
S-34 is camped out in the shallow waters of Woleai and I can't seem to force it to leave.
South Pacific:
Allied TFs bombard Woodlark Island some more while some new troops begin landing - from the casualties incurred it seems to be at least a Regiment sized unit.
Amphibious Assault at Woodlark Island (104,133)
TF 180 troops unloading over beach at Woodlark Island, 104,133
Allied ground losses:
399 casualties reported
Squads: 0 destroyed, 61 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 69 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Guns lost 9 (0 destroyed, 9 disabled)
Vehicles lost 8 (0 destroyed, 8 disabled)
Allied bombers continue their harassment of my troops on Woodlark wounding some each day.

Night time air raids on Truk by B-17Es and B-24Ds crush my fighters and do some damage to the airfields. After another day of losing 50+ fighters against allied heavy bombers I am giving up the skies over Truk. I am pulling out all aircraft and allow him to bomb it flat. Problem is I have four ships in the repair yards there and those will probably be lost - 3 xAKs and 1 Sub.
I am also leaving about 25 damaged aircraft on the airfield - hopefully some of them will survive to be repaired and flown off.

And welcome to April 1943... As Japan I get nothing this month except ship upgrades - basically I finally get radar on Carriers and cruisers !!! The allies get CV capable Corsairs

More heavy bombers hit Truk furthering damaging the port and airfields. All ships / aircraft are gone from Truk and as soon as he stops bombing me, my engineers will repair everything. He doesn't have the air power nor amphibs to land enough troops at Truk quickly so I'm not worried about him invading for a while yet.
