President Macron gave a touching tribute to the late Queen
warspite1

I thought this was indeed a very touching statement to make.

“To you, she was your Queen. To us, she was the Queen”

Very classy President Macron, very classy.

When you're 13 you get a text from prince Andrew. :D
I really don't want to see any more jibes in this thread. Please leave people to pay their respects in peace.

That goes to everyone.

You've been a valued and constructive member of this community for years, but since the post you made regarding NATO and the warning you received about that for bringing politics into that discussion, it seems that you've been carrying a grudge. There have been a series of posts since then where you keep trying to send threads off-topic or bring politics into them. We all have political viewpoints and I certainly appreciate that yours may differ from mine and that you are entitled to your own opinions.

However, we've always tried to keep this forum away from politics.

When a subject comes up that's political for you, whether with regards to NATO and Sweden/Finland or with regard to Queen Elizabeth, realize that it may not be inherently political for all or to the same degree. We try to draw a pretty large border around political topics, but we also know that our forum is populated by adults who should be able to give some benefit of the doubt to their fellow posters in the interest of discussing topics that could be political, but don't have to be.

A memorial thread such as this is a good example of that. I realize that Queen Elizabeth was a head of state and thus a political figure. However, she was also a public figure worldwide and this thread was intended as a place for those who simply wanted to express their condolences or wishes that she rest in peace. It has no agenda beyond that. It doesn't have to be political, unless you make it so.

In any case, given your recent posts (most now deleted by you), I've asked Edmon to give you a one week ban to think things over. As you've already been warned a couple of times, this is the next step in terms of our forum moderation rules.

We don't want you to leave the forum for good, we'd just like you to reconsider what's bothering you and the rules of the forum. You've been a welcome member here for many years and that can also be the case for years to come. I've posted this publicly to make sure there's no misunderstanding here and that you can see this even while temporarily banned.

Regards,

- Erik
Hi Eric Rutins,

Thank you for your polite reply. Your reply was better than Slitherine moderator ' you are also constantly saying that you are leaving the forums, too.' this type of moderating is at best polite way saying 'go where you go'. I've thought about writing to Slitherine board but it seems after 20 years this firm had lost in quality. Not to bother with them. Maybe they should put Portugese moderator not from UK if it is about diversity they talk about.

About Sweden&Finland sitution; forum poster said today first world over reacting about 'neo -nazis' in a WW'2 video. Without quoting the forum poster I've replied it is surprising those nations want join NATO.

Anyway I had 'no agenda too' when I join Strategic Command ACW beta this summer. I've even played a good pbem during beta test. I still want to use forums for epic WıTE'2 for pbem. But not worth writing anything in general discussion.

Regards.

That's an endorsement I'm good with.

Nice dodge.

And not that you're worth replying to, but I originally joined this forum in 2003 for ACW gaming, thus the avatar.

How about we let this thread continue for it's intended purpose.

And the disrespect and thread derailing continues.

Might as well lock it now. I wanted to wait until after the funeral, but some just refuse to understand what the mods are saying.

And so we come toward the end of the mourning period (ends tomorrow but I believe the Royal Family will then have a further week). The final goodbye to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II takes place today with her funeral. I for one will be glued to the television for this terribly sad event.

It’s been so heartening to hear the comments about Queen Elizabeth - not one person that actually met her has a bad word to say about her. Not many heads of state can say that! The kind comments from all around the world has been incredible and the fact that so many foreign leaders and dignatries from evey corner of the globe will be attending her funeral says everything about Queen Elizabeth’s standing and her contribution to trying to make the world a better place during her 70 years of service and duty.

I still can’t quite believe Her Majesty has gone.
