Re: Counterfactual History of WW2 Using MWIF (Solo GW)
AAR Template Revision 5. Turn 1. Sep/Oct 1939. Allied #8.
I wasn't happy with all the white (i.e., wasted) space in my current AAR template (rev 4) so I'm trying a new format (revision 5). I'm posting the war logs/war diary for the last 2 impulses (Allied #8 & Axis #9) as a preview of the new format. Comments (positive & negative) are welcomed on this and on the previous formats.

Re: Counterfactual History of WW2 Using MWIF (Solo GW)
I've attached my AAR templates rev3, rev4 & rev5, which are excel workbooks.
(1) rev3 used for out 6-player PBEM GW AAR.
(2) rev4 used initially for this AAR.
(3) rev5 current format for this AAR.
Also, and again I do apologize for my grammar in this AAR and even in other posts by me. I've notice a number of grammatical errors in both when I "reread" them. I will try to do better moving forward but for me it's a tradeoff between logging/posting vs game play/game support tool development.

Re: Counterfactual History of WW2 Using MWIF (Solo GW)
Lots of interesting background for strategy. Thanks for posting.
Re: Counterfactual History of WW2 Using MWIF (Solo GW)
I found your Rev 5 to be much more readable.
Also, one part of the US strategy can not work: The US guns start in the US and you can't move them into the Philippines until US entry option 41 is chosen. If MWiF lets you, then there is a bug, but I suspect MWiF won't let you.

I thought I knew how to play this game....
Re: Counterfactual History of WW2 Using MWIF (Solo GW)
General MacArthur's request for a US army artillery division to reinforce the general's Philippine defense forces had been tentatively approved by General Marshall and allegedly even by President Roosevelt. However; after Ambassador Grew because aware of the request he made clear in no uncertain terms that such a move would be considered by Japan as escalatory towards war. Given his country's current isolation attitude and with an eye to the political future of his party and the next year's presidential election, President Roosevelt through back channels got General MacArthur to "withdraw" his request before it become known to the public and thus preempted any embarrassment and political turmoil by officially having to deny the request.Courtenay wrote: Wed Oct 12, 2022 3:35 pm Also, one part of the US strategy can not work: The US guns start in the US and you can't move them into the Philippines until US entry option 41 is chosen. The general was heard to tell his staff that he isn't surprised that FDR caved to Ambassador Grew and that the general would do a much "damn" finer job as president than that old navy man (FDR).
