My lone DMS clears the last of the air dropped mines at Rangoon. At least the ones in the harbor.
The IJA had a horrible day in the air over Akyab. I ordered my 4 Sentai of Helens to bomb the port at Akyab after spotting several ships in port there. I had some A6M2 zeros at the same base set for escort, some A6M5cs at Prome set to LR CAP Akyab and 75 Franks from Toungoo set to sweep the skies of any enemy fighters... Good plan right ??? Well it should have been.
My Helens and escort go in first, link up with the LR CAP and run into roughly 100 enemy fighters in the air. My A6M2s get mauled and I lose 7 Helens from the first sentai. Then two sentais of helens come in unescorted and get butchered. But we did land a single 250kg bomb on the CA Dorsetshire. Then the last sentai of helens come in, linking up with the LR CAP again. The LR CAP gets beat up, and I lose another 10 helens but the rest bomb the port hitting CA Devonshire with a 250kg bomb this time, setting her on fire. Then as my bombers were done, the 75 Franks come zooming in at 31k altitude and maul the enemy cap
If only the Franks had gone in first I would have save 80 or so helens that were lost and probably got much better bombing results.

China:
My tanks shock attack the Chinese opposition mauling them. One or two more attacks and that corps will retreat and be combat ineffective.
My troops near Nanning attacked another Chinese Corps inflicting heavy losses. If we don't win this battle soon my troops there will become trapped and cut off.

My tank division in northern china smashes the opposing Chinese Corps forcing them to retreat to the west. That Chinese Corps is combat ineffective until it gets some R&R. I will chase it all the way back to Kiuchuan and try to destroy it.
