With situation around Kursk Improving for Axis Forces and the fighting withdrawal by 2nd Hungarian Army successfully enabling The Ostheer to form two lines of defence centred around The Oskol and Donets rivers to guard against a push by enemy forces towards Belgorod, which will prevent any attack at the rear of the defenders at Kursk.
Instead Red Army Units push towards Kharkov, as the armoured spearheads push through the gap they soon run into trouble as our forces cutoff the advancing enemy blunting there drive.

The situation in the Central Caucasus is the reverse as both 1st Pz Armee and 17th Armee launch a major offensive against the enemy trapping 8 Soviet units in a classic pincer movement,The Red Army is taken completely by surprise and with little to no reserves, escape for these units seems unlikely.

With 9th Armee working in conjunction with Army Group North on the Kalinin operation, 3rd Pz Armee supported by 4th Armee launch there own offensive against Red Army units in The Tula region, more enemy units are cutoff as The Panzer's push towards Kaluga first, this throws the enemy in a state of panic as apart from a huge Guards Inf Corps plus a regular army unit defending the city most enemy troops are digging in there positions in front of Soviet Capital.

As Axis Forces travel along the coast road heading towards Southern Tunisia and The Mareth Line reports reach Rommel that a number of Inf Units are having trouble keeping up with the main force, Commanders report despite there best efforts these Inf units will be overtaken by 8th Army's fast moving mobile units.
Tough decisions must be made, if the main group of PanzerArmee Afrika turns back to support the stragglers the entire Armee could be surrounded and destroyed.
Rommel decides that they should be used to slow down the advance of Montgomery's forces.
