And thanks for the compliment.
This game is the
best.
It's
better than WITP AE hands down.
And ya know, I've seen some people knockin this games AI. As if WITP AE's AI is better? It's not.
WITP AE's AI is not good at all.
Every sophisticated wargame's AI is less than desirable. They are all less than desirable and really just something to learn a games mechanics.
What this game needs is better art presentation. Some inspiring cover art to catch the imagination. Think Axis & Allies box cover artwork.
More attractive and inspiring packaging. Something that grabs the imagination. Something like this...
But yeah, great game. Five stars.

Better than WITPAE? Woah that is some high praise. Other than the AI what do you think makes it better? Just curious?
Being able to simulate the Pacific theatre with a lot fewer moving pieces while remaining an entertaining experience makes Warplan Pacific the better game for me.
By far.
I can move one game piece representing the 6th Air division in Warplan Pacific in a perfectly satisfyingly way without needing to know the commanders name and rank and those of the other members in the unit and their individual attributes as in WITP AE. As an example.
Going down to that level of detail in a simulation covering the entire Pacific theatre is not necessary in my opinion and is needlessly time consuming. All of those tiny details in WITP AE can be summarized greatly while taking nothing away from an enjoyable recreation of the Pacific theatre.
I don't feel I lose anything by not going down to that level of detail.
And I feel I gain having those details consolidated as in Warplan Pacific because I can go through a turn in twenty to thirty minutes and that allows me to get through more games with more people.
This is how I look at it and why I consider Warplan Pacific better than WITP AE.
