Re: Chat GPT Checklist...
Meh. These are basic, generic bullet points that any beginning strategic game player should know, for any war game.
Does not provide any insight into HOW to actually play and win WITE2 or provide specific details about the game.
Proof again that AI isn’t end all be all.

Re: Chat GPT Checklist...
I agree here, those are very generic and not very specific and really not very informative of the actual playing of WITE 2.

ChatGPT knowledge cutoff-date was 2021, when WitE2 was barely released, so chatbots can't have specific knowledge about the game.loutro wrote: Fri Aug 11, 2023 4:11 pm Meh. These are basic, generic bullet points that any beginning strategic game player should know, for any war game.

A newer version of ChatGPT4 level whose training data has included all Matrixgames posts may offer more specific and useful checklists.
Although it may also have picked up "allot" from Pelton's posts

That in and of itself is not in the game. Hence me being coy with what to research since it is not in the game. Wrong avenue path for it to put in.

Re: Chat GPT Checklist...
I tested ChatGPT on HOI4.
* Why zone/region system is used to model air and ocean combat. I mean real world or military simulation, there is no reason for such?
* How software reuse can result in better return investment versus superior modeling?
* EU4 again how their had to be AI function to explore and patrol?
* Good marketing psychology needs to convince the consumer much work/value is delivered to justify payment as opposed to "we hung a UI on already written functions in 1 day".
What is my point? ChatGPT passed basic coding, but failed to arrive at the synthesis by which code/marketing/deception could generate improved return on investment. All it did was parrot, the thoughts of other humans and published literature. It was unable to arrive at the inspired synthesis that drive PDS' profitability ... don't show me something I don't know. Show me something that was not originally based on human thought.
---
I loaded an uncensored 33B parameter LLM (LLAMA based) on my 4090 using the turbo-charger(4X) ExLLAMA which increases tokens from 2K to 8K.
Now, this model could tell me every sensation of being constipated.
But at the same time, I was run HWINFO64 with more than 500+ data points. At least 25% are temperature probes. The CPU Package could be at 105C and the GPU Package at 95C, but the the LLM would have no sense it was literally burning up and how does that feel?
It's gimmick. There is no body (I was talking to a video card for 3 hours). It has not perception of time which is another reason why feeling are a gimmick.
---
I am a 40 year software engineer, but LLMs are not computer science. They are modern alchemy, and no one truly understands why they work (in that sense they model brains well). The idiots throwing things at the wall and seeing if it sticks are playing with fire.
