I am wondering and analyzing the manual in order to study the terrain effects on combat (I think it is explained only in section 13.12).
- The introduction of that section says that "Terrain [...]sometimes penalizes attacking Land units". But where is that explained?, the rest of the section only explains the "defensive strengths".
- How are those values (the defensive strengths explaiend in 13.12.1-13.12.5) computed? Those values are multiplied for each type of strength or how?
- About the same thing, how is this value and the value in 13.12.6 computed in the attack-defense? Where and how is this done?
- Does those values of defensive strengths (13.12.1-13.12.5) have some real effects? Those multipliers are quite similar (x3, x1.5, x5...) when a unit has multiple types of strengths. I mean, at the end of the day, all units are going to have overall more or less the same defensive strength values right? Some units re gonna have more anti-armor elements, other ones more infantry elements...but more anti-personel...so overall all, at the end, the multipliers should be adjusted eventually according to a mean, right?
- Finally, as veterans, what is your intuitive idea of using terrain in combat? Use some units preferably in certain terrain...or how? Some tips?
Thanks in advance!
