The scenario was uploaded by Kobu in the first post.

The SM-3 won't maneuver when the DF-26 does, and stays on it's original course until it is nearly too far past the target to catch them. Any more off axis of an attack and it likely would never catch them. It begins maneuvering to catch the DF-26 shortly after the target crosses under the 304.8km max altitude for the SM-3.

That is .15 patch. Under the same conditions in .14 the missiles never make the final turn and just fly by and Peter out.

Except in .14 if I added the SBX radar with full arcs on the DDG it would make the final maneuver as it did in the video. In .15 it does this with the radar from the other unit.

I'm getting between 70-90% hits in all SM-3 engagements in .15

What about this scenario? It's basically an amplification of the late maneuvering by the SM-3 that causes them to not reach their target.

Tried it several times, and see what you comment, but other times there are impacts.

Most of the times it fails.

Disabling Unit obeys EMCON in the DDG, I am getting much better results, 2 impacts and 3 misses and 1 petered out in 6 tries.

Though perhaps it is noise and many tries are needed for any conclusion.

The issue is a mix of a terminal phase abrupt change in trajectory and a misscalculation of the intercept point due this change.

But after changing the trajectory, sometimes it works and redirects to the chinese missile. Why?

I get to work sometimes using the SPY radar and not others times. It works OK in my scenario, but not consistently.

On long range shots using SBX, its almost a 90% hit rate.

This is in .15
