I gave all the appropriate aircraft naval missions to hunt for those two Jap subs loitering near Pearl. Lots of ASM going on. Maybe that will rid me of Jap subs in this area, for a while at least.

The Japs landed at Kuching last night and I've got almost as many guns as he has but I'm outnumbered in manpower so they will probably conquer the base fairly quickly. I've got aircraft there that I'll have to move or I'll lose them.

TF504 is some APs with an AVD escort and is loaded with elements of the 4th Marine Defense Bn and some artillery and some engineers and they are headed out to Wake to help overwhelm the Japs that landed there a week or so ago. I own the hex so I don't think I'm going to get shot at just landing some more troops. One thing though: I don't know where the KB is right now. That's a little bit concerning. I've got a CV ready to go and I think it might be a good thing to let them shadow the troop ships within range to CAP both TF's.

I flew VMF-211 ( the heroes from Wake ) out to the Enterprise because there was almost room for them and I need all the help I can get right now. The Enterprise will cap for the troop transports going out to Wake.

TF540 is leaving Sydney headed for Luganville and it's an AP loaded with the 3rd AUS Indp. Coy ( paratroopers/commandos) and they are prepping for Luganville as we speak. It's got 38 hexes to go to get there and that means a week or more. I'll have to replenish the two AMs several times there and back but they provide the DCs needed for ASW so I can hardly leave them behind. They are faster than the AP after all.

I'm looking at the destroyed air groups list and I've already bought all the Kingfishers that were on the list and now I need to decide whether or not to purchase the Walrus's or the Seagulls. I'm guessing that the Seagulls are marginally better than the Walrus's. There's also a Hudson I available but I'm not real sure I need the Hudson yet. I've got but 130 PP's available and I've been using most of them to replace deficient leaders all over the map. I'm leaning toward the Seagulls.

I found two AOs at Pearl that weren't doing anything important and they were already loaded with fuel so I thought that might come in handy for the CV that's headed out to Wake. So I arranged for it to follow the CV and trail by 3 hexes. The CV is trailing 1 hex behind TF504 which is carrying troops and equipment and some supply for Wake.

TF115 is a minelayer TF and it's got 40 mines between the two ACMs with 4 PCs as escort and they are headed for Dutch Harbor and they have a couple of weeks ahead of them at least. It looks like they departed three days ago from SFO.

Here's what happens when you put a Chinese fighter squadron on General training as a skill. The winning categories seem to be Exp, Air, Staff, and Defn. In the high 50s already and it's been only 10 days since they started training. Pretty cool. I'll let it bake some more and compare it later on to see how much it has changed.

The Japs captured Madang and landed at Finschhafen last night and it looks like it's a goner. The Japs will own it by this time tomorrow.

I've scheduled SS Grayling to lay 20 mines at Wake. Might deter future Jap ships. A little.

I finally got a substantial amount of mines at Johnson Island ( 316 ). Also there's TF's unloading supplies and fuel there so it'll be in business shortly. It's working on level 2 forts ( 26% ) and there's a PBY squadron based there. I need to ship it some fighters sometime soon.
