The Japs landed at Wenchow last night and they have brought quite enough to push my guys out of town. At least there's an available retreat path.

TF553 finally finished loading up with fuel and he volunteered to run some fuel out to Loganville but he would like some escort if you please. So I radioed TF121 ( two PG's with ASW cap. ) and volunteered them to meet up with TF553 and escort them to whereever they wanted to go without an argument this time. So it's fixed up and now I need to scrounge up somebody to convey some supply out there as well.

TF232 is two TK's that were loading fuel and with the approach of some Jap CV's this seemed like a good time to stop loading and get out of town. They were almost full anyway. I'm debating about going full speed at least for awhile. I suppose the CV's will concentrate on my limping DD's before he sails down here so I'm thinking TF232 has a chance to get away.

I was wondering how much longer that train of transports I sent to the East coast over the last few days and of the group already on their way the closest one to the EC has 4 more days yet so the rest of them are longer that that by maybe a week or so. Well, when they arrive I'll turn them around and send 'em back where they came from. This group of 7 boats is just the start of this route because I plan on sending a lot of AK's from Capetown to here depending on where the most goodies are. I did a review and it looks like there's slightly more goodies at CT so until that base runs low I'll leave the AK's in the west. It looks like I'm going to receive 3 transports near the Panama Canal tomorrow. And more in the future, Shirley.

thought I'd arrange some mines for Loganville and TF570 at Midway, 4 SSs loaded with mines volunteered to run some mines out there with the proviso that they would rather be based at Pago Pago would that be okie dokie? So I caved in and said okie dokie. They have arranged a stopover at Brisbane to fix any problems that might pop up and then off to Pago Pago. PP doesn't have mines for the subs I'm guessing. That might not be the best place for them after all. I gotta base them where the mines are plentiful and that suggests Brisbane or Sydney or whereever I can find an HQ available that can provide them.

On the first day of the war I set some of the ships to convert to other types mostly to support ships that would lend more utility than the previous type(s). So now weeks later some of my eggs are starting to hatch and I have a boatload of support ships that I need to distribute to the various bases that have need of them. The AKEs will especially come in handy in that support for the combat(s) that occur can be nearby instead of a couple of days away. An emergency repair/rearm base can even be set up at a dot base I do believe.

TF572 is 5 DDs which all just popped into existence at San Diego are headed for Seattle which will escort the two BB's that are healing at the shipyards in Seattle. This group of DD's has a pretty good captain and this addition will enhance the game for me.

I just discovered to my horror that AUS has only a few days of oil left. And after that's gone the fuel stops and that will eventually stop the HI and once that stops the supply stops and then the economy crashes. Not good. So I'll have to start shipping oil to AUS. And soon.

TF115 is approaching Dutch Harbor where she will lay 40 mines for all the good they will do and then they will set off back to SFO. All that way for just 40 mines. Why expend that much effort for just 40 mines? It seemed like a good idea at the time I guess.

I had a couple of B-17's flying recon up until two days ago when both of them were stood down to increase their morale and now I look at my target hex and the DL has dropped to nothing. I gotta start over with my recon I guess.

TF504 arrived at Wake and has started the download of more troops and some supply. I own the port so there's no shooting but I'm thinking of detaching the CV escorts and using them to bombard the enemy LCU's on Wake. I'd rather not strike them with my naval aircraft because I don't need the aircraft losses and I may need those sorties for more important tasks later. The KB could be in these waters.

TF115 is approaching Dutch Harbor where she will lay 40 mines for all the good they will do and then they will set off back to SFO. All that way for just 40 mines. Why expend that much effort for just 40 mines? It seemed like a good idea at the time I guess.

ACMs are Minefield Tenders and AFAIK need to have mines on board to do their job. When they use mines to keep the minefield topped up, those are replaced automatically (the number seems to be constant) so in effect you get extra mines without using production. If you lay the whole load of mines you will have to reload mines at home port and use your production. I am not suggesting that you should not mine DH, but that ACMs should not be used for the purpose.

I did not know that. You are a goldmine. Thanks for the info. I will make changes. Good to know. I slept in until 11:58 this morning. I'm having peanut butter cookies for breakfast. TF326 is 11 hexes away from arriving at Canton without escorts and looks to unload more troops including more engineers and some infantry.

The new Allied base at Loganville is now manned and supplies are being unloaded there but a lot more supplies are going to be needed so work can begin on the forts and airfield and port there. There's only 109 infantry troops which is probably not enough to hold onto the base for very long and some ART is needed yet. So it's not really secure yet.
