Those small AMc are useful ships, don't waste them. Those Dutch AVPs are useful as well, there is one that can operate a FP while moving which is useful in a convoy for detecting enemy submarines. Those ships that can convert to AGs are also useful. The Australian AS becomes an AR later. These ships can help FPs, flying boats, and/or ships from other navies as well. When I play the Japanese side, I convert a bunch of ships to ADs, not just for the ammo resupply but also for the 83 extra repair points each turn on Pierside mode. I think that they and the AGs will also load smaller ammo onto larger ships as well.

Take your ships that are in danger from enemy carriers and break the TFs up into one ship TFs, then have them all run to different ports and disband.

Thanks for the good ideas and the good info and the link. I'll look into it.

Singapore says it has only 20 supplies and that's not good. And the AV is only about 900 or so. I'm not sure that's enough to hold off the Japs for very long. And there's plenty of damage to the facilities. I'm going to have to move the aircraft out of the base and put them instead at Palembang.

The Japs invaded and captured Ocean Island last night. I never did see any ships involved. I guess the detection level is too low. I'll have to get some recon going on that island if it's possible.

Seems odd that supplies in Singapore would be so low with so much heavy and light industry located there.

Here's what the goodies track looks like and I don't see the reason for the rapid drop in supplies. Between 300 and 700 supplies per turn. I'm not sure how to look into that since I'm not saving the individual game turns. Maybe I should start.

He may be moving the supplies out if he is removing units.

Also, he probably should save every game turn so he can go back and try different things and see the difference. That is one way to learn.

Couple of shots in the dark:
1 - You turned off production at Singers. You have lots of resources so that is not an issue.
2 - You let all the units take replacements to fill out their TOE - big supply eater!
3 - Because the Port and AF are damaged, the supply 'draw' is not as strong as it would be if they were not damaged. A base like Georgetown or needy units in the field might have drawn some away. (The stockpiling setting does not affect flow of supply to units that are not at a base).

I just discovered that if you leave the description blank the game engine puts the date of the game and the scenario # in the description so it's possible for me to save every game turn from now on. For the problems like we've discovered that happened at Singapore.

The Japs landed at Sambas last night and I outnumber him so far. But I turned off the bombardment and am only defending now. Because he'll probably land more troops and I may need the supply to last longer in the hex.

The Japs landed at Buna last night and it looks like they landed a rather substantial force there. Almost 100 guns but no AFV's yet. That may just be an entire division but why would he land a division there? Maybe he's going to send some troops over the mountain trail to get to Port Moresby.

There are probably construction units along to begin building up the airfield too.

TF57 has loaded 42K+ fuel and they are going to carry it all the way to Brisbane 121 hexes away. I'm guessing it'll take about three weeks (???). AUS needs the fuel so it'd be best to get started ASAP.

A couple of my tankers were trying to escape from Soerabaja and got hammered by the Jap carrier(s) operating NE of Java. Both absorbed a bomb and are heavily damaged and on fire. I'll probably lose both of them.

The game tries to follow historic moves in certain areas. The Port Moresby campaign is one of them. IRL, the Japanese had to abort the direct invasion of PM after the Coral Sea battle stripped them of their carrier cover. They landed the troops at Buna which they could cover with LRCAP from Rabaul or Lae. So they will march over the mountain track and suffer the malaria, fatigue and supply difficulties the IJA did IRL. There could also be attempts at direct invasion of PM if your air cover seems weak.

The Japs have marched far enough to capture Ye and two other dot bases just south of Moulmein. I've been sending LCU's to Rangoon so we should be good to go for a couple of weeks.
