I was supposed to get a free bus ride to go shopping and then get free food but the bus didn't have me on their list. It is about a 100 km away so it is just a little too far to walk. That that is a load of fecal waste.

That damn live oak!
A note for Orm, she is still a commissioned warship and is open for tours.
A famous painting by Anton Otto Fischer depicting the battle between HMS Guerriere and USS Constitution. During the battle, Constitution inflicted severe damage on Guerriere while suffering relatively little in return. During the engagement, both ships had locked together and, upon separation, Guerriere lost her foremast and mainmast.
As Constitution came about to renew the fight, Guerriere fired a single shot in the opposite direction, typically used as a sign of surrender during the time. The captain of Constitution dispatched a boat to inquire about Guerriere's gesture.
As the boat came to Guerriere, a Lieutenant asked if the British ship was to surrender. The captain of Guerriere, James Richard Dacres, responded by sarcastically saying, "Well, Sir, I don't know. Our mizzen mast is gone, our fore and main masts are gone - I think on the whole you might say we have struck our flag."

But it was that live oak that make it cannonball resistant! The problem is, that wood is too heavy to float on its own.
BTW, I was thinking of the British perspective!

Mine know some commands and they will "stop" when I am emphatic about it.
Probably because they think that something just might come flying through the air at them. :D

Now that I am finally retired I have decided to accept Geezerhood ....... I have practised being grumpy for years but now I can finally shout at the TV to my hearts content (so long as it's not something the wife wants to watch!). I am informed that when spring returns the dogs and I shall be spending most of our day outside, so at least I shall be able to keep a proper watch to see who or what has the audacity to go on my lawn!!
