Turn 1

End of Turn

My Goal is to take Leningrad & Sevastopol in the first 9-12 turns while getting as many Soviet POW's as I can during that time frame.

Please realize that I am going to be devoid of PZ/Moto on a great deal of the map so won't be able to do encirclements that much unless I get lucky where I don't have PZ/Moto.

Enjoying this very much, thanks for the AAR. One request, could you explain your command structure swaps for the army groups? Sounds very interesting but I'm very confused, a bit like STAVKA right now.

Very interesting and promising report. I will follow this with interest to see how this will play out.

One question please: You have written that the match is on turn 13. Is there any way in a server game to go back and reload the turns to make the screenshots, or have the screenshots been made while playing turn 1?
I am asking because I am thinking about to do an AAR myself.

Sadly, there is no way to access past turns or screenshots. They are lost forever. It's the downside of Server Games.

You have to have taken screenshots along the way

Germans have very few AP's to spend on leader changes(at the beginning of the game), so to get around this I build out the leaders with the best stats to give the best chance at rolls that are existing from the start of the game. I guess you can ask, "Why change out everything out for just one point in two categories on the leader"? Since this is really what it is all about, the two points on Army Group Center's leader and Army Group North leader. Well it is two points and a very small percentage but I am going to grab ahold of it and sink hours into the change for the small percentage :). Not to mention something about bald heads that just doesn't sit well with me ;-P

Command Structure by Turn 3 for 2nd Panzer reporting to Army Group Center.

As you can see three (3) panzer Armies fit perfectly under Army Group Center :). And 3rd and 4th follow suit trying to get the best stats in place with existing leaders.

I really look for good Admin for my leaders. Because by winter you really want your army with great Admin everywhere there is going to be blizzard. And 2nd PZ will be at the front facing the Soviet onslaught since I don't remove my PZ's & Moto off the Map. They stay for the Winter Vacation.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying ADMIN is the way to go. I am saying ADMIN is what I do and have done since WITE1 as the Germans

Now since I am going to Leningrad I want my "BEST" air commander in charge of my planes. Hands down there is no contest here between Luft 1 and Luft 2. You be the judge.

So all of my planes will be under Luft2. (By the way I have had the full Luftwaffe on the map pretty much from the beginning of turn 4 or 5 (don't remember and not going to look at the moment, you will find out soon enough))

Air Loses

Didn't spend a great deal of time doing air directives. What I bombed and then shot out of the air is good enough with 3,748 Soviets destroyed for the turn. Will be able to take care of them soon enough.

Just a side note that I always target fighters first and foremost during the bombing.

Turn 1 I stick OKH on Berlin and pretty much leave it there for a long time. I have always sent my SU's to OKH and I allocate SU's and send back SU's every turn individually.

Very helpful tips here HLYA even for us PVE Players, the OKH setup and placement is interesting.
I'm always trying to get the best out my forces even against the AI :D

Turns 1-3ish I have the supply priority set to 2. Starting around turn 4 I set everyone on supply level 3 except for the Rumaninians who are usually not on the main line. That way those SU's are always full up on supply :). Rested :). And full up on replacements :)

Also on turn one 2 export ports, Danzig and Koensburg. I used to do just one but now I do 2 (if I remember) at a minimum sometimes three. But these are the two I set in the Baltic.

******NOTE********NOTE*********NOTE********* if you don't turn off the other ports, meaning to Zero (0) they will get supply and stockpile. I turn mine off but you are more than free to leave them on but I turn mine to zero to direct the supply to these two since this suppling happens before the main supply and I want my supply to go east, not NW :). Choose wisely

*******NOTE********NOTE********NOTE******** This picture is from a later turn. I forgot to turn both ports on on turn 1 but didn't want to give the wrong impression (Yes, I forgot to do so but want other to remember to do what I forgot) with just one port turned on on turn 1. Again this is a picture from a later turn when I finally turned on Koensburg, sorry for the confusion in the pictures ******NOTE******NOTE*******NOTE*******

Again it is up to you if you want to stockpile your supply back there ;-P. Again I turn them to zero (0). Please note that you may have to turn some on sometimes, you will have to figure that out :)

Can you imagine all of those ports stockpiling your supply back there? :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
