Question re Opponent Replay

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

After the orders phase, the turn will play out just like it does in War in the Pacific. Is that what you're asking?....GP

Apologies. I missed this response and realize that I wasn't very clear. I mean that when playing WitE2 in PBEM mode, the opponent’s turn is not replayed like it is when you play the AI. That ultimately soured me on the game and I was wondering if this new game might change that state of affairs.

Ok, so you do your orders for your units, then your opponent does his and then the turn is executed.

Against the AI you do your orders and the you execute the turn.

I hope this helps. It's a fantastic game....GP

My specific question is: When you open your opponent's turn in PBEM in War in Spain, will you get a replay of his turn? You do not in Grigsby's titles.

This is not a Grigsby title. Both players do their orders and then the turn is resolved.

I know it's not a Grigsby title, but it uses the same engine. I'm trying to find out if you will get a replay of your opponent's turn (unlike in Grigsby titles) when you open his file. Does anyone know the answer?

Yes, you have a combat replay each turn: air, land and sea. Although you can´t see the movements of enemy units if you don´t detect them (FoW)

I'm so pleased to hear that! PBEM just doesn't play well (IMHO) without a replay. My only real criticism about this engine has been that it didn't do that. I'll be all over this title. Thanks for the answer.

It actually is a new engine. The screen look similar to WITP:AE.
