Problem with Indian Fury #1

Post by bladesinger79 »

Seems to have issues running the scenario. Once the shooting begins right about twenty minutes in, I get a continuous stoppage of gameplay, the loading circle pauses the game one and off. The delay lasts about 30 to 60 seconds, sometimes longer.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Is there a solution?

As I recall, it's caused by Iranian small craft blazing away at merchant ships with light weapons. There are so many shots for the engine to resolve that it slows the game right down. Bart is aware of the problem.

I am having similar issues. It gets very slow, so that I consider skipping it. Which is very pity as the story and the scenario setting is very captivating

"pity"

Is this a new word of the day or something?

LOL. Happy to alternate with:

"It is lamentable / it is regrettable/ it is
dispiriting" Pick your poison

Tried to take a look at this now, but this is a 2400+ AU scenario playing out all over the Persian and Oman Gulfs. Can anyone provide a "right before the shooting starts" save and point me specifically where to look? Thanks!

Just retried this one (the exact above download) with 1728.2 and seems to run quite smoothly at double flame! Impressive.

Unfortunately I stand corrected by myself. Running further into to the mission the choppy behaviour still persists (slightly improved). See relevant save

After playing around a bit, it appears that turning off on the Message Log, Weapons Damage, Weapons Endgame and Weapons Calculations seems to improve performance somehow (it is the difference between "Testing my Patience" and "Testing my Sanity"). Not sure what of the three is the more taxing

Added a few more tweaks on this for the next update. You should see a smoother flow (less "pulsing" caused by the per-second message log refresh). Please give it another tray when the next update is available.
