Turn 20. I want to make a brief assessment and, with it, bring this AAR to a close, as its aim was to show the opening stages of the campaign. I love the game; there is a variety of options and situations that are truly worth highlighting.
So then, in this wrap-up, if we look at the naval side, we can see that in capital ships we have lost the ones shown in red, while the Republicans have suffered losses in those shown in green. Sinking 2 enemy destroyers, given the small number of ships, the low level of readiness, and the few weapons available to counter them, I take as a small success. Not so much on the merchant-war side, where we have only managed to sink a few ships.
Turno 20. Quiero hacer un pequeño balance y con esto, dar por finalizado este aar que pretendía mostrar los primeros compases de la campaña. El juego me encanta, hay una diversidad de opciones y de situaciones, dignas de resaltar. Pues bien, en este cierre, si nos vamos a la parte naval, vemos que en buques capitales hemos perdido los buques en color rojo, mientras que los republicanos han sufrido bajas en los de color verde. Hundir 2 destructores enemigos, dado el escaso número de buques, bajo nivel de preparación y las pocas armas para contrarrestarlos, lo tomo como un pequeño éxito. No tanto en la parte de la guerra mercante, donde solo hemos podido hundir unos pocos buques.
Nothing to say about all the ships of the Nationalist side that have been sunk. We have really taken a good beating in these early turns. It must also be acknowledged that I have been very aggressive in an attempt to move troops from North Africa and the Canary Islands to the Iberian Peninsula.
The Nationalist side is not ready to carry out such a bold move at the outset, with zero air support and limited naval strength. Hence the fact that the airlift from Morocco to Seville (for example) is of vital importance (just as it was in reality).
Nada que decir de todos los buques hundidos del bando nacional. Realmente nos han dado una buena paliza en estos primeros turnos. También hay que reconocer que he sido muy agresivo en un intento de movilizar tropas desde el norte de África y las Islas Canarias hacia la península ibérica. El bando nacional no está listo para hacer un movimiento tan osado en los inicios, con cero apoyo aéreo y poca potencia naval. De ahí que el puente aéreo desde Marruecos a Sevilla (por ejemplo), sea de vital importancia (tal como ocurrió en la realidad).
In the air war, there is little to comment on. The Nationalist side has virtually no aircraft to confront the Republican side in the early stages. Little by little, air units begin to arrive, both our own and those of our Italian and German allies.
En la parte aérea, poco que comentar. El bando nacional tiene nulos aparatos para hacer frente al bando republicano en los inicios. Poco a poco van llegando unidades aéreas tanto propias como de los aliados italianos y alemanes.
As a final snapshot, I’m leaving you with statistical data from turn 0, the mid-game turns, and this last one. It shows how things have evolved in terms of number of bases, victory points, ships sunk, air losses, and so on. A summary of what has happened and what we’ve been reporting along the way.

I would like to thank the entire War in Spain 1936–1939 team for the opportunity they have given me to write this AAR and to take part in the game’s beta. I feel that a part of my country’s history, and my own family history, is being portrayed as faithfully as possible, which allows us to tell some incredible stories and gives us a chance to delve even deeper into the events that took place there.
Because in the end, while you play, you end up looking for information, watching videos, reading books and articles… it becomes a way of enriching our culture through games. So once again, many thanks for this opportunity, and see you on the battlefield!

Siento que una parte de la historia de mi país y familiar está siendo reflejada de la forma más fiel posible, lo que nos permite narrar unas historias increíbles y nos da pie a profundizar más aún en los acontecimientos que allí ocurrieron.
