October 14, 1944.

Three hexes were taken by combat in third French invasion site. Each one is circled in red and has combat results.

Final picture shows what happened over whole turn. One hex was won by Germany but not occupied. Fine by Allies, as I moved units in to occupy vacant hex. It is in green. I believe this time Germany will have a difficult time taking it back and it will cost much in troops and equipment. Three hexes were taken in combat and are circled in red. Final hex is in blue. That means another invasion. Metalist likes it when the Allies invade! Ha.

October 21,1944.

Germany did five attacks on two hexes this turn. Four in one hex and one in another. Metalist sent me a copy of them to make sure Allies had them and I thank him for that. However, sending news reals of Axis tanks rolling over Allied ground entrenchments was a bit much. Ha. But seriously, thank you. Metalist informed me that in a previous turn I had switched one of the Axis hexes that was attacked so I will try to get it right this time. I am also real happy the BLM is working well on the Axis phase. I hope it will continue on Allied ground phase.

First hex to show is the one attacked four times. It was finally taken, which makes the American infantry division isolated since it lost the invasion port. The location is southern French invasion area.

Allies lost around 8,000 soldiers while Germany lost fifteen hundred in Axis turn phase.

October 21,1944.

Victory points: For turn they were -24 and game total is -110.

Rain is over the whole map.
Light mud is over whole map.
Water level for Europe is 4-5 and Italy is 2-3.

Troop transport ships pool is at 146.

Air losses for Axis phase are low. 71 for Germany and 17 for Allies. On Allied phase Germany lost 606 while Allies lost 553. Total after air phases, 677 for Germany while Allies lost 570. In this rare case Allies lost fewer aircraft, by 107. Below is chart on German and Allied air phase.

Air sorties were 30 to 1. 1,600 to 48,000.

October 21,1944.

BLM is not working for Allied ground phase so went ahead and removed logs after ground phase in the hopes it will start to record again on turn 70.

Below is chart for losses on Allied ground phase. Germany at 41,515 while Allies lost 14,082. Add this up with air losses and German phase and then you see that there is a lot of casualties.

since I do not have BLM working I will just show you where the contact line now is. First is Italy. I have a few hexes that were taken in Italy but without BLM it is hard to remember which. I may be off a hex or two but the general idea is presented. Red taken and green vacated by Germany. In the grand scheme of things a hex gained by whatever means is still a hex under control so not a big deal how it was achieved.

France is next. Original French invasion site. A hex was taken and is in red. Following hex switched too due to (ZOC).

Final picture is new French invasion site. German units did withdraw to a more dependable line. The second point is about Brest. It was placed in isolation again. There was a lapse due to weather. And it went from a four fortification to two. This is a huge change. Next turn I feel it will surrender and with that, a very nice sized port (6). Rail is ready to connect and then armor will start to flow onto the Peninsula. Brest is circled in Pink. There were a few other advances as well due to attacks in the region as well. Many colors and symbols are displayed in picture.

One last thing I wanted to add to this challenge is a comment on Allied logistics. The pace of Allied ground operations has been slow which has allowed rail to be present in most of the conflict. This includes depots and air support as well. A minor bright spot in a overall dismal situation for Allied efforts on France.

Amphibious / troop transport ship pool is at 150.

Weather in air over Europe is rain and in Italy it is heavy rain.
Both areas have light mud and water level 4-5.

Victory points for turn were -23 and game total is -133.

Germany lost 91 aircraft while Allies lost 65.

Germany conducted one attack, located on southern French invasion site; on isolated American infantry division. It retreated but realistically the results are equivalent to surrender.

October 28, 1944.

Germany decided not to engage with Allies and the bad weather. Less than a 1,000 sorties while Allies completed near 38,000. Though Germany lost few pilots and Allies did, the Luftwaffe still had many aircraft destroyed on ground. Total losses for both sides up to Allied air phase are, 272 for Axis while Allies lost 581. This is a Luftwaffe advantage of 309. Below is chart for Allied air phase.

thank you for your request of game update Mr. Bairdlander2. Chart below shows that Germany received -21 victory points for turn. Game total is -154. Metalist is doing good and will achieve at least a minor Axis victory. (-300). Of course Allies could reduce attacks but where is the fun in that. Ha. Not historical either.

Your next request needed to be put in three pictures. Following are the updates to where Eastern Front is. Russia / Soviet Union. I went from top to bottom of map. North to south. I kept eastern edge of map as a reference point and only went to Berlin.

there was one attack by Axis on Brest Peninsula. Until withdraw of SS units on turn 83 to eastern front, there will be little progress for Allies.

Main invasion site of France was attacked by several armor and SS divisions. With such a concentration of Axis force, even Allied armor is no match. Below are results.

November 4, 1944.

Heavy rain is coming to England next turn so I decided to get a turn in on strategic bombing. Total air losses for turn so far is Germany, 402 while Allies have lost 821. This is an advantage of 419 for Luftwaffe. Below are the charts for air phases of this turn.

Following is a sample of attacks on a hex in France. There were over twenty hexes attacked so I used this one to illustrate the carnage. This hex is not the biggest but it has a good presentation of ground units as well as air units adding to the fight.

As Allies I would like to drive into Northern Italy next turn but that is unlikely. Game mechanics. Doing so would release many garrison units for Germany. If there was a way to trigger this without placing French landing sites in jeopardy I would but doing so now would be a determent, with Germany receiving so many mechanized units during the end of 1944. As it is, Allies will not be moving much until February 1945 due to many SS units along with many German mechanized units. Air campaign will be scaled back a bit too. Bad weather will be common now.
