Turn 68 Allied French front
October 14, 1944.
Three hexes were taken by combat in third French invasion site. Each one is circled in red and has combat results.
Second:
Third:
Final picture shows what happened over whole turn. One hex was won by Germany but not occupied. Fine by Allies, as I moved units in to occupy vacant hex. It is in green. I believe this time Germany will have a difficult time taking it back and it will cost much in troops and equipment. Three hexes were taken in combat and are circled in red. Final hex is in blue. That means another invasion. Metalist likes it when the Allies invade! Ha.

Turn 69 German phase
October 21,1944.
Germany did five attacks on two hexes this turn. Four in one hex and one in another. Metalist sent me a copy of them to make sure Allies had them and I thank him for that. However, sending news reals of Axis tanks rolling over Allied ground entrenchments was a bit much. Ha. But seriously, thank you. Metalist informed me that in a previous turn I had switched one of the Axis hexes that was attacked so I will try to get it right this time. I am also real happy the BLM is working well on the Axis phase. I hope it will continue on Allied ground phase.
First hex to show is the one attacked four times. It was finally taken, which makes the American infantry division isolated since it lost the invasion port. The location is southern French invasion area.

Turn 69 German phase Italy
October 21,1944.
Only attack here is along border between north and south Italy.
I wanted to show all the hexes that are being abandoned by Germany. They are in green.
Germany withdrew on Brest Peninsula to form new contact line.
Allies lost around 8,000 soldiers while Germany lost fifteen hundred in Axis turn phase.

Turn 69 Preliminary
October 21,1944.
Victory points: For turn they were -24 and game total is -110.
Rain is over the whole map.
Light mud is over whole map.
Water level for Europe is 4-5 and Italy is 2-3.
Troop transport ships pool is at 146.
Air losses for Axis phase are low. 71 for Germany and 17 for Allies. On Allied phase Germany lost 606 while Allies lost 553. Total after air phases, 677 for Germany while Allies lost 570. In this rare case Allies lost fewer aircraft, by 107. Below is chart on German and Allied air phase.
German:
Allies:
Air sorties were 30 to 1. 1,600 to 48,000.
German ground losses to Allied air were 26,000. Below is chart.

BLM is not working for Allied ground phase so went ahead and removed logs after ground phase in the hopes it will start to record again on turn 70.
Below is chart for losses on Allied ground phase. Germany at 41,515 while Allies lost 14,082. Add this up with air losses and German phase and then you see that there is a lot of casualties.
since I do not have BLM working I will just show you where the contact line now is. First is Italy. I have a few hexes that were taken in Italy but without BLM it is hard to remember which. I may be off a hex or two but the general idea is presented. Red taken and green vacated by Germany. In the grand scheme of things a hex gained by whatever means is still a hex under control so not a big deal how it was achieved.
France is next. Original French invasion site. A hex was taken and is in red. Following hex switched too due to (ZOC).
Final picture is new French invasion site. German units did withdraw to a more dependable line. The second point is about Brest. It was placed in isolation again. There was a lapse due to weather. And it went from a four fortification to two. This is a huge change. Next turn I feel it will surrender and with that, a very nice sized port (6). Rail is ready to connect and then armor will start to flow onto the Peninsula. Brest is circled in Pink. There were a few other advances as well due to attacks in the region as well. Many colors and symbols are displayed in picture.
One last thing I wanted to add to this challenge is a comment on Allied logistics. The pace of Allied ground operations has been slow which has allowed rail to be present in most of the conflict. This includes depots and air support as well. A minor bright spot in a overall dismal situation for Allied efforts on France.

Turn 70 German phase
October 28, 1944.
Amphibious / troop transport ship pool is at 150.
Weather in air over Europe is rain and in Italy it is heavy rain.
Both areas have light mud and water level 4-5.
Victory points for turn were -23 and game total is -133.
Germany lost 91 aircraft while Allies lost 65. Next picture shows air engagements over Europe. Notice how Germany is concentrating just on original invasion site.
Germany conducted one attack, located on southern French invasion site; on isolated American infantry division. It retreated but realistically the results are equivalent to surrender.
Ground losses for Germany were at 561 while Allies lost 14,325. Many from the above attack.

Turn 70 Allied air phase
October 28, 1944.
Germany decided not to engage with Allies and the bad weather. Less than a 1,000 sorties while Allies completed near 38,000. Though Germany lost few pilots and Allies did, the Luftwaffe still had many aircraft destroyed on ground. Total losses for both sides up to Allied air phase are, 272 for Axis while Allies lost 581. This is a Luftwaffe advantage of 309. Below is chart for Allied air phase.
Next chart shows German ground losses from Allied air phase. A little over 14,000.
Next picture is of Allied battles in France. Brest was captured, (surrender) so this will open up logistics in a couple weeks.
Following chart shows ground losses for Germany and Allies after ground attacks.

thank you for your request of game update Mr. Bairdlander2. Chart below shows that Germany received -21 victory points for turn. Game total is -154. Metalist is doing good and will achieve at least a minor Axis victory. (-300). Of course Allies could reduce attacks but where is the fun in that. Ha. Not historical either.
Your next request needed to be put in three pictures. Following are the updates to where Eastern Front is. Russia / Soviet Union. I went from top to bottom of map. North to south. I kept eastern edge of map as a reference point and only went to Berlin.

Turn 71 German Phase

Rain is over whole map.
Light mud is over whole map. Water level 3-5.
153 troop transport ship pool.
Ground losses on German phase were, Axis 2,529 while Allies lost 8,730. Below is chart.
there was one attack by Axis on Brest Peninsula. Until withdraw of SS units on turn 83 to eastern front, there will be little progress for Allies.
Main invasion site of France was attacked by several armor and SS divisions. With such a concentration of Axis force, even Allied armor is no match. Below are results.
Final picture shows aircraft engagements over Europe by Luftwaffe.

Turn 71 Allied air phase
November 4, 1944.
Heavy rain is coming to England next turn so I decided to get a turn in on strategic bombing. Total air losses for turn so far is Germany, 402 while Allies have lost 821. This is an advantage of 419 for Luftwaffe. Below are the charts for air phases of this turn.
Allies:
Following is a sample of attacks on a hex in France. There were over twenty hexes attacked so I used this one to illustrate the carnage. This hex is not the biggest but it has a good presentation of ground units as well as air units adding to the fight.
Second attack. German forces retreated.
As Allies I would like to drive into Northern Italy next turn but that is unlikely. Game mechanics. Doing so would release many garrison units for Germany. If there was a way to trigger this without placing French landing sites in jeopardy I would but doing so now would be a determent, with Germany receiving so many mechanized units during the end of 1944. As it is, Allies will not be moving much until February 1945 due to many SS units along with many German mechanized units. Air campaign will be scaled back a bit too. Bad weather will be common now.

Turn 72
October 11, 1944.
Rain is every where along with light mud. Water level is 3-5. This will soon change into heavy mud.
Allies went ahead and moved onto Northern Italy. This will release German garrisons. Maybe this will return the game from bore in the west into WitW.
First picture is of Italy and the Allied forces moving across line.
Next picture shows the only hex Allies took in Italy.
A port was taken in France and is pictured. It took two attacks and this is the first one.
Second attack when port was taken: Notice how Axis garrison surrendered and was isolated yet only a fourth were captured. Over three thousand escaped. Magically I am sure. Ha.
At the end of each turn I am removing the log file and this seems to help getting the BLM recording ground actions. Unfortunately, this turn the air went to Zero on lost aircraft. I can look it up in metrics but not a big deal. Germany lost fewer aircraft than Allies did.

Turn 73
November 18, 1944.
I am not aware of German ground attacks for this turn.
Weather is heavy rain over most of map. Light mud to heavy mud everywhere. Water level of 4+ in all areas.
Troop transport pool is at 158.
Victory points for turn were -14 and game total is -180.
Total air losses for both air phases are, 249 for Germany while Allies lost 254. Very even this turn. Weather makes it difficult to sustain any air operations. At least on a strategic level.
In Italy there were still many ground attacks but only one resulted in success. On the west coast a port / town was taken. It took two attacks and both are recorded.
Second attack:
Would like to post rest of turn but cannot access game right now due to log in error. This happens on occasion. Will have to try back later. while I wait for game to correct itself, I wanted to add an observation. I noticed an oddity in Italy. Many German mechanized units have left this front. No doubt they are moving into France.
I was able to get two more pictures for turn before system froze again, sending turn. Following picture shows Brest Peninsula. One hex was taken by combat and other by being empty. Attack is displayed.
Final picture shows original D-Day. no change despite many attacks. Strong German units and bad weather make it impossible to obtain victory.

Victory points: Turn, -21. Game total is -201.
German air phase: Luftwaffe, 114. Allies 36. Below is loss chart.
Allied air phase: Luftwaffe, 470. Allies 972.
Total so far in air losses are, Germany 584 while Allies have lost 1,008. This is a difference of 425. Below is loss chart.
During Allied air phase 13,425 casualties were inflicted. Below is chart.
Weather is a mixed situation. In the air it is cold. Everywhere on the ground it is snowy (1-3 level) and or water (1-4).
troop transport pool is at 153. Lost some last few turns so no increase.
Final picture shows Axis air engagements over Italy. Large increase.

Turn 74 Allied ground phase
November 25, 1944.
Allies took three hexes in Italy. One was mountainous too. One was a port, on east coast. Still, three hexes is a happy week for Allies. Although many more hexes were attack. Below is picture. And of course the BLM is not working for Allied ground attacks.
Next picture is the southern invasion site of France. Not much of a change on it but it does consume resources from both sides. Meaning units. It might even come into play when other French landing sites expand.
The Brest landing site has expanded a few more hexes this turn. Four were occupied while two could not be. They are all in red.
There are two amphibious invasions this turn. They are in blue. This starts to create potential pockets for Germany so I think a withdraw by a couple hex rows might happen. Due to little progress by Allies, logistics have been good. Rail is always at the front with every town having an airbase or one being built. A depot is there too, along with five flak units. I have been placing them as towns / cities are connected by rail. Invasion ports can also have them. Slow movement is not desirable for Allies but since rail can keep pace, so too can flak. The same holds true for Italian rail and flak.
Final picture is of D-Day. It too had progress. One hex occupied and one not so. Yet the way the line is, German units are looking exposed so here too there might be a one or two hex row change. This new invasion could put pressure for an Axis realignment.

Turn 74 update
November 25, 1944.
If playing Allies, you should not be doing many attacks. This takes away victory points each turn due to ground losses. Yet this is not my goal, victory at any cost. The intent is to push the Allied resources to the extent of being able to take Real Estate. To this end, Germany (Metalist) has absolutely destroyed the Allies. And with great skill. As I said in the previous turn, Allies should have not entered Northern Italy, thus releasing significant German units. But historically they of course would have.
Germany went below three thousand aircraft for a bit of this game but has since regained and remained level at this amount. the reason being, more planes are being made. A special aircraft such as a bomber takes ten to twenty times in resources to make compared to a fighter bomber. So despite Germany having fewer factory points dedicated to aircraft, more are being made. it is just that the majority now are fighter aircraft. Allies stay at ten thousand. Both of these numbers are less when looking at ready aircraft though. allies go to 9,000 while Germany can go to 2,300.
There will be many amphibious invasions happening, just the one this turn. Allies need to keep pressure up on coastal port garrisons.
As stated before in a previous turn, Paris is the new Berlin for Allies. Ha.
