Quick Questions Thread

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

This unit cannot be motorized any further.
(i.e. within these historical TOEs)

You can replace the smaller Truck with a larger capacity truck, but it will not have a major impact.

All of these LCUs are attached to Aragon or levant Hqs yet not getting enough guidance. Why might this be?

I'm still quite new to war games. I am reading a great ARR by RangerJoe, and in it, (s)he mentions "Devices".

But, what is a device? why is that important? when I look at a unit car, the list of "squads", is that what a device is?

thanks :)

I took out the wagons and put in trucks but still not enough. How bad would it be to switch the support squads with more trucks?
You can add captured devices including trucks and wagons to the unit.

When you play Nationalists, you have a hard time with motorized units because they use fuel which is scarce and tends to stay at the ports. The Republicans have more tankers so they can haul more fuel in but they still can have issues with fuel. Horse powered devices use no fuel but more supplies.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Devices are guns, vehicles, tanks, mortars (etc.) ... and squads. Everything that makes up a LCU (land combar unit 8-) ).

Then, the word device is interchangable with UNIT. What a weird word to use.

No, the unit is the collection of devices. Think platoon, company/troop/battery, then battalion/squadron, regiment, brigade, and then division.

To clarify, when I click on ONE card in the bottom area, that cart is a Platoon/Unit, is that what you mean? and then the devices make up that platoon.

Devices are not only in LCU but also in aircrafts (engines, bombs, etc) and ships (guns, torpedos, etc). You can open the game editor, choose the scenario and click Device section.

Soldiers are always organized into Squads.
If a squad has 10 men and there are (for example) 9 squads, then there are 90 soldiers.
Sometimes the term team is used. Usually for operating a machine gun or flamethrower, for example. There is a smaller number of men, 2 to 4....

A weapon, vehicle, tractor, horse wagon, tank, etc. is always one piece.

Many thanks, should have tried to use my brain a bit more :). Now another one, quote from the manual: "RSV units are also useful in moving otherwise static devices. By that they are the only means to move certain CD guns or fortifications into position. RSV units are also used in handing over devices to other nations by using the lend lease button on the Ground Unit Window.". That arises me 2 questions, 1. How ? Making the RSV and trying to merge and send the static devices from a CD doesnt work, so i was wondering if there is something missing ? And second how does the lend lease work in this case ?

Questions about the aircraft production.
(GC/T1/Republicans)
Hispano Ni.52 Airgroup screen > Aircraft Data. Build rate shows "8(0)". "8" its 8 per month. What does "0" mean?
Aircraft Production Pool with "F" only shows that all build rates for fighters "0x(0)". Why not "8" for Hispano Ni.52 at least?
Also the screen shows "Total pool points: 62". What is it?
