Feature Requests
To the developers -
1. It would be very helpful if you could add in an Order of Battle (OOB) viewer so that we can see all of our forces in one view and manipulate and make changes to the OOB.
The Cold War Flashpoint Campaigns game, has a great OOB viewer and the design is very good and functional. We should not have to create Excel spreadsheets to track this stuff.
2. Improve the map quality and resolutions of pop up screens and the bottom toolbar in game. The LCU pop box for example is really aesthetically unpleasing. It has a white bar across the top and a small icon that looks like it is from Windows 3.1. Please take time to improve the art quality of the interface and map.
3. Put the date and revision number on the cover of the Game Manual.
Thanks

Amen brother.
Re: Feature Requests
+1 ... there's so much more to add, but it'd be a start.

"Unpleasing" is to understate the state of the art "quality".User1984 wrote: Fri Feb 13, 2026 7:20 pm

What kind of monitors were used by the Beta testers? Were they stuck at VGA 640 x 400 pixels?
But one of the more prolific contributors of this forum mentioned still playing Window 3.1 games. Maybe Windows 3.1 resolution was the benchmark?
Besides some odd design decisions, this might be a great game. But personally, I am scared off by the current graphic presentation. Sorry to say this because the topic of the game is very interesting.
Re: Feature Requests
Yeah it really is shocking that this game made it through beta testing without complaints about the issues we have mentioned. I am also very surprised that matrix games allowed a game in this condition to be released. I wish the developers well, but they need to make some major upgrades to the game.

Re: Feature Requests
On the Combat Report and the Ops report clicking on an event highlights the hex in question - could the same be pleased applied to the SIGINT report - save me searching around the map..

Re: Feature Requests
Just go to the folder and delete it there, it is safer that way than to do it in the game - especially with a touch screen!

Re: Feature Requests
Some way to tell your war ships to not to waste torps with ships under XXX tons , if you can fill that field, or with a set number like 250tons or so. I am tired of seeing my subs and DDs wasting torps on 100 tons wooden hull ships or even patrol boats. I´d like to be able to tell them to not to waste my precious torps with anything under 500 tons for instance.

Re: Feature Requests
Rework the game editor. Its a nonsense to have it in the current state for edit the such big data. Perhaps it was ok when WitP/AE was released but its 2026 now and the game have other scale.
Re: Feature Requests
good luck with that, I think these fellas may only have WITP as their only point of referenceDreamslayer wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 12:41 pm Rework the game editor. Re: Feature Requests
And in game pop up info screen when you over your mouse on your mine fields telling you how many mines are in it, something like "this minefield has XX mines". At the moment i have mined 2 hexes next to Cartagena base hex 117, 125 and another 2 next to Mahon base hex 166,97 in both cases the 2 minefields are in charge of same base. The info i can gather is how many mines are in the 2 minefields together the base is in charge but not how many mines are in each minefield separately. So for instance Mahon base button "minefields" tells me the base is in charge of 78/400 mines but i can´t find out if it is 77 mines in one hex + 1 mine in the other hex or 39 mines in one hex +39 mines in the other hex. I´d like to be able to find out so i can keep track if i need to add mines here or there.
It wouldn´t solve it if in that "minefield" screen the info would be like "used: 77 +1" or "used: 39+39", with the mines break down by hexes because i wouldn´t know what hex is the one with each amount.

Re: Feature Requests
Would be good to have in the game settings the option about the leaders. Which will allow to use the simple leadership model. In this model the game will use the commanders only in the normal HQ's (HQ's which have the command range),
Because in the current state the leaders management its a madness. I guess you can play against the AI and ignore the leaders. You can play it in any state (being absolutely drunk or let your cat to play) and you will win. But what if you want to play against the human. You need to replace tons of commanders.

Re: Feature Requests
Agree with all of these comments. I have at least over 4,000 hours in War in the East 2 and love to get in the details, but I continue to put off getting into this game until something is done to actually make managing the details possible. I don't mind getting into the weeds and managing the details, but the interface needs to make it easier. IMHO less time on historical accuracy (can't believe I am saying that) and more time on what it is like to actually play the game would go a long way to the future success of this game and any planned expansions.
Re: Feature Requests
Give to Caesar what is Caesar's.
I know it looks silly to quote myself, but as it looks like the feature I requested here.
Recently while checking the manual from 9 february 2026 to check if some of these
https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=415801
had been addressed I came across this
That I am sure it has been there since the beginning but I had not realized till today.
That is exactly what I was asking for, and in fact you can check how many mines there are in a certain hex. The pop up screen when mousing over would be ok, but what i wanted is exactly this.
Sooooo…. there you go. “Future feature” that belong to the past cause it was already there.
