Usual Elo rules.
Taifun (Allies) defeats Aquavita (Axis).

The German forces are unable to defeat the French. France survives with its entire fleet. Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria did not join the Axis. There is no Barbarossa. Germany finds itself without economic survival options in the autumn of 1941. Chinese forces are pushing back the Japanese in China. I proposed ending the game in the autumn of 1941, as the Axis had no options.

Taifun (Allies) defeats hasmat_slith (as Axis) september 1941

German panzers attacked the USSR in April 1941, surprising the Soviet defenses in the middle of their deployment. Panzer forces crossed the Dnieper River and threatened Stalingrad, Rostov, and Voronezh.
Meanwhile, Japanese forces stalled in China, halting their offensive in the south and center of the country. The Japanese army attacked the Soviets in Vladivostok in April 1941, and this greatly increased the activation of the USA. By September 1941, the USA entered the war, and a surprised Japan was not ready to launch its offensive in the Pacific and Asia.

New ELO game started
1939 World at War

petedalby (Allies) vs LoneRunner (Axis)
Axis resign in Nov '44.

Loads of pressure from the start. Moscow & Kubyshev taken. China down to Urumchi. Perm taken in Oct '44 but Russia refused to cave and Perm was retaken. Allied forces pressing in from all sides and the outcome no longer in doubt.

Bill is a great guy to play - regular turns & excellent comms. He's a bit ring rusty after 3 years away but the moves are all still there.

Still no website for the rankings sorry (soon!).

Allies have now won 62% of matches after 36 games.

Looks like quite a lot of games will finish in April. Next update on May 4.

Personally I think these house rules are spot on and perhaps we should make a revised standard ELO house rules with people putting up what rules they feel should be included or not. We can then get a consensus and have a new standard? Thoughts???

Hi Harry - I typically use the first 8. I'm not fussed either way about #9 because the Russian Baltic fleet should be doomed anyway but my opponent requested it. This will be my first time limiting Amphib to L4. This should favour the Axis but maybe they need some help given the number of games being won by the Allies. And most players agree that LRATs are over powered in the game.

Just a question: no diplo on DEI has been left out.
I read something about the new patch limiting it, so I guess it is not considered necessary anymore?

If level 4 amphib cap makes the game more balanced, fine for me.

ELO game result:

Firsteds (Allies) defeats Aquavita (Axis).

Fast paced game with lots of action and some interesting moves. Axis collapsed all at once in 1943.

New ELO game begins:

HARRIS45 (Allies) vs petedalby (Axis)
Allies resign in May '43.

Great turn rate & comms from HARRIS45. I was surprised to see no wins so far for HARRIS45 under the new system but kudos to him for choosing to challenge higher ranked players and not being afraid to lose.

You only fail when you stop trying.

ELO game result:

Feinder (Axis) defeats Boudi (Allies), Feb '43 Allies resign.

Excellent and responsive game by Boudi (thank you!).

If I had to assess, Germany was able to continue it's drive in N Africa, and arrived in time and strength to relieve Iraq.
In this way, the Persia did not get carved up by UK/USSR, thus depriving USSR of Persian convoy.
Japan DoW USA in Sep-41, and then USSR about Jan-42(?), and was able to capture Vladivostok, thus depriving USSR or Vlad convoy.

Thank you Boudi for a excellent game!

HarrySmith Axis defeats HARRIS45 Allies May 43 with Allies resigning. Southern Russia captured and Moscow and alternate capitals threatened. Japan capturing Hawaii and controlling the pacific and invaded India. Germany capturing Egypt, Iraq and Persia. Allies taking Algiers and Tunisia. Good competitive game by Ron who is a better player than his record shows.
New game up for experienced Axis player with password of harry.
